An exhibition in memory of fellow artist Serhiy Shapovalov has been opened (15.05.1943-04.11.2021)

On November 12, 2021, an exposition dedicated to the memory of the Honored Artist of Ukraine Serhiy Shapovalov (15.05.1943-4.11.2021) was opened at Kropyvnytskyi Art Museum.

On November 4, 2021, the earthly life of the extraordinary personality, bright artist, talented artist, Honored Artist of Ukraine Serhiy Gavrilovich Shapovalov came to an end.

Shapovalov Sergei Gavrilovich was born on May 15, 1943 in the village. Ingulo - Kamyanka, Novgorod district, Kirovohrad region. In 1962 he graduated from the Alexandria Pedagogical School. In 1968 he entered the Kyiv State Art Institute. After graduation he was sent to work in Kirovograd art and production workshops as a painter. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, winner of the regional award in the field of fine arts and art history. Alexander Osmerkin in 2006 in the nomination "National Tradition". By the Decree of the President of Ukraine № 919 of October 10, 2008 SG Shapovalov was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Artist of Ukraine". For a high level of professionalism, a significant contribution to the development and promotion of fine arts Sergei Gavrilovich was awarded numerous awards of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and others.

His creative activity Serhiy Shapovalov began in 1986.

Serhiy Gavrilovych is a participant in many city, regional, national and foreign exhibitions ("New York. Inter-Expo 2002" (USA), Berlin (Germany), etc.).

In 2004 a personal exhibition of the artist took place in Guadalajara (Spain). Participant of the All-Ukrainian art exhibition "Picturesque Ukraine" 2007, 2018. In 2010, a personal exhibition of paintings "Blossom, Ukraine!" Was opened at the National Museum named after Taras Shevchenko in Kyiv. Serhiy Shapovalov's works are stored in museums and private collections in Ukraine, Spain, the USA, Israel and others. A significant part of the artist's works was purchased by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine

Kirovohrad Regional State Television and Radio Company made short films about the life and career of Serhiy Gavrilovich Shapovalov: the first film was shown on the UT-1 channel in the 1990s. (author V.I. Lisnyak, director L. Yevdokimova), the second - in 2007 "In the Chords of my Colors" (the author of the idea – N.V. Bondarenko, director M.K. Gorokhov). In 2008, V.I. Lisnyak's television author's program "God's Gift" about Serhiy Shapovalov's personal exhibition "Field Diversity" was created at the Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum (Museum of Arts). In 2012, our museum presented a documentary short film "Creative portrait of the artist Sergei Shapovalov" from the series "Your brush was driven by love" (author Olga Repkina, curator and director LI Franchko). In 2007, MAVIK Publishing House released the album “Serhiy Shapovalov.”

The artist's cooperation with the Art Museum is quite fruitful, it is participation in thematic exhibition projects, all Easter Charity Auctions, plein airs and the opening of numerous solo exhibitions.

Recently Serhiy Gavrilovich was seriously ill… The exhibition, which was opened at the Art Museum these days, presents several paintings by Serhiy Shapovalov from the collection of the Museum of Arts. There is also a portrait of Serhiy Gavrilovich, painted by his brother, a bright talented artist Anatoliy Shapovalov.

Today Serhiy Gavrilovich is not among us, but there is a memory of an extraordinary, outstanding man, bright personality and artist, there is a huge creative heritage of the artist, whose life was full of dedicated creative work, bright emotions and colors, which he embodied in his works and bequeathed. to all of us.
