On May 18, 2021, an exhibition of works by Valery Davydov, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, dedicated to the 96th anniversary of Petro Ossovsky's birth (1925-2015) was opened in the department of the Art Museum - Art Gallery "World and Fatherland" named after Petro Ossovskyi

For reference: Petro Pavlovych Ossovsky - People's Artist of the USSR, was born on May 18, 1925 in the village of Mala Vyska in Kirovohrad region. In 1950 he graduated from the State Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov. Since 1956 he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. During the independence he became an honored artist of Ukraine. He passed away on August 1, 2015. The works of Petro Ossovsky are stored in leading museums and private collections in Ukraine and around the world. P.P. Ossovsky is known as a founder of a "strict style" in art. On May 18, 2007 the department of the Art Museum - Art gallery "World and Fatherland" named after Petro Ossovskyi was opened.

Every year on May 18, "World and Fatherland" Gallery celebrates this day in memory of Petro Pavlovych and on the occasion of the International Museum Day. This year, as part of this celebration, the gallery halls were replenished with works by Valery Davydov, artist, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, senior lecturer at the Department of Fine Arts and Design of the Volodymyr Vynnychenko Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University.

For reference: Davydov Valeriy Mykolayovych was born on December 21, 1954 in the city of Kirovohrad. In 1993 he graduated from St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.Y Repin. Participant of many all-Ukrainian and regional art exhibitions. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 2005.

Valery Nikolaevich Davydov was personally acquainted and repeatedly communicated with Peter Pavlovich Ossovsky, especially during the visits of the famous artist-countryman to the Motherland in recent years.

The creative path of V. Davydov is also connected with the personality of Petro Pavlovych. Thus, in 2008 V. Davydov took part in the National Project "Ukrainians in the World" (creation of portraits of prominent Ukrainians - natives of the region) and painted five portraits, including a portrait of Ossovsky. In 2015, he took part in a plein air dedicated to the memory of prominent fellow artists Ivan Pokhitonov (1850-1923) and Peter Ossovsky (1925-2015) in Dobrovelychkivsky, Novoukrainsky and Malovyskovsky districts.

Valery Mykolayovych's works are stored in the funds of the Art Museum, Art and Memorial Museum of O.O. Osmyorkin, Kropyvnytskyi, Dobrovelychkivsky District Museum of Local Lore and in many private collections in Ukraine and abroad. He actively participates in various, including all-Ukrainian, art exhibitions and plein airs.

V.M. Davydov works in the direction of realistic painting. The genre range of the artist's work is very wide: landscape, still life, portrait, genre painting, etc.

The exhibition, presented on May 18, 2021 in the halls of the Peter Ossovsky Gallery "World and Fatherland" presents an author's repetition of the portrait of Peter Pavlovich, painted for the project "Ukrainians in the World", as well as landscapes painted by the artist during a plein air in Ossovsky's homeland in Mala Vyska.
