On September 15, 2021, an exhibition "The City in Figures" dedicated to the celebration of Kropyvnytskyi City Day - 267 years was opened in the Art Museum of Kirovohrad Regional Council

The museum's stock collection is rich in works of art dedicated to the native land. Most of works were made by talented fellow artists. Therefore, in these autumn, pre-holiday days, when people of Kropyvnytskyi are preparing to celebrate the 267th anniversary, the Art Museum participates in the preparation and opens an exhibition-gift to the birthday boy - the city of Kropyvnytskyi: "The city in figures".

Regardless of the territory, the mainland, the landscape, cities were formed where people gathered. If there were no people, then society was not formed and as a result, the planet Earth would be uninhabited, wild and there would be no notion of administrative units. As a result, there would be no cities. That is, a person - is one of the key links in the development of territories.

Figures are the faces of cities, they live in them, present, build, improve, create landscaping and keep the level of developed hail at the national level. When you first come to the city, already at the train station, you are greeted by people who create an atmosphere, mood and have their own unique mini-mentality.

For 267 years of our existence, our city has grown from a small settlement to a city with the status of a regional center, over the years it has nurtured and raised on its streets many talented residents who presented themselves not only nationally but also internationally.

Today our exhibition is about them, about those people who were born, grew up, lived, worked, created, fought, existed, enjoyed and loved here. We should be proud of our land because it has given us talents. Along the streets of Yelisavetgrad, Yelisavet, Zinovievsk, Kirov, Kirovograd, Kropyvnytskyi luminaries walked, the Ukrainian drama theater took the first steps of formation. Our city also saw the serious eyes of Volodymyr Vynnychenko. Olexander Osmyorkin, Volodymyr Fedorov, Borys Vintenko, Anatoly Gorbenko, Peter Kodiev and other masters of the brush were inspired by the colors seen around in our region. And Yuliy Meitus, Serhiy Puzenkin, Valentyna Revenko, Yuriy Lyubovych created history in the field of music. Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi still remains in our hearts because he dedicated his life to children.

These are just a small part of people you will be able to meet in halls of the Art Museum and see what a city it is in the figures of actors, politicians, artists, poets and at the same time just people - residents of the city. Each wall of the museum in blocks will introduce you to the figures who created our city and its history from day to day. And you will be able to move in time, from the eighteenth century, when the fortress of St. Elizabeth was built to the present day.

The Art Museum congratulates you and our city on the holiday and invites you to visit us in time travel and acquaintance with prominent figures of Kirovograd region!
