On July 16, 2021, the Art Museum of the Kirovohrad Regional Council presented an exhibition project - a photo exhibition "Striving for a Better Life", organized and initiated by the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China, the Information Bureau of the State Council and the State Poor and Development Group. for the PRC.
The photo project became a logical continuation of the systematic educational work of the Museum of Arts to highlight and promote the history, life, cultural traditions, authenticity of such a distant, unique, mysterious and most numerous country in the world as China.
Back in February 2010, our museum presented the exhibition "China through the eyes of a countryman", which showed the author's photographs of the famous local historian, philanthropist, public figure Viktor Petrakov (1947-2016).
Since July 2020, the Art Museum has been hosting a series of educational events, lectures and video presentations on the relevant topics, so some citizens had the opportunity to gain some knowledge about the "country where the sun rises" by attending events at the Museum of Arts and reviewing the proposed information material. social networks, website and YouTube channels of the museum. Almost every week there are master classes on traditional Chinese culture. Everyone had the opportunity to try their hand at Chinese calligraphy, writing hieroglyphs, treat Chinese tea, learn about the origins of the history and religion of ancient China, meet the Chinese New Year and launch the Chinese lantern and more.
Such acquaintance with the culture of the People’s Republic of China and popularization of the culture of the largest country in the world in Ukraine helps to strengthen interstate ties, exchange experiences, expand the worldview of Ukrainians, enrich Ukrainians ’understanding of Chinese life, become a source of enrichment of our cultural traditions. Such an educational project impresses with its diversity and provides new knowledge!
Still, the exhibition came as a surprise, especially in terms of its exhibition presentation, as the visitor was able to touch the Chinese exotics, thanks to the information and illustrative material located on 55 stands - roll ups.
Each of them is a kind of documentary and visual report of China on the work done in terms of overcoming poverty in each region, reflecting almost all areas of the economy and life, the story of people who have achieved significant success in their work, the story of successful social policies to overcome poverty for China's large population, a story about the success of government policies aimed at improving the lives of ordinary Chinese, and more. Emphasis is also placed on effective anti-poverty programs.
The exhibition not only provides an opportunity to make an interesting journey to modern China, which, not to mention there, has changed significantly since the "Cultural Revolution". It is very revealing and instructive for Ukrainians in the sense of how to arrange their home without waiting for help from other countries, to be self-sufficient, without hoping for an "older brother" from the east or west.
The opening of the exhibition "Striving for a Better Life" was attended by the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Odessa Mr. Sun Litsun, staff of the Consulate, Chairman of the Kirovohrad Regional Council Serhiy Shulga and Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism Ulyana Sokolenko.
