An exhibition of works "Mystery of the Maestro" from the personal collection of Yuri Lyubovych for the anniversary has been opened at the Art Museum

On November 7, 2021, the Art Museum opened an exhibition of works "Mystery of the Maestro" from the personal collection of Yuri Lyubovych - Ukrainian choral conductor, Honored Artist of Ukraine, honorary citizen of the city. The opening of the exhibition is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Yuri Vasilyovych.

It was here at the Museum of Arts on November 7 that Yuriy Vasyliovych decided to celebrate his 80th birthday, which was a great honor for our institution. And on Sunday there was a celebration called "Mystery of the Maestro" and the opening of an exhibition of items from the private collection of Yuriy Lubovych.

It should not be presented or announced, because it is known not only in our city as an outstanding Ukrainian choral conductor, honored artist of Ukraine, honorary citizen of the city, not only in Ukraine but also abroad!

Yuriy Lyubovych was born on November 7, 1941 in Kirovohrad. In 1959–1963 he studied at Kirovohrad Music School. After graduating from high school he worked in the Far East as a teacher at a music school in the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, from 1966 - a teacher at the School of Arts in Khabarovsk and artistic director of the Khabarovsk Youth Choir. In 1970 he graduated from Odessa State Conservatory named after Antonina Nezhdanova with a degree in choral conducting. From 1971 to 2004 he worked at the Kirovohrad Music School, first as the head of the choral conducting department, then as the deputy director for educational work and later for a quarter of a century he headed the school.

In 1978, Yuriy Lubovych created the Academic City Choir (since 1992 - the Municipal Chamber Choir). Under his leadership, the municipal chamber choir became a winner of prestigious international choral competitions. His speeches were heard in various countries in Europe and Asia. And the maestro himself knows the hemisphere. The ensemble's repertoire consisted of outstanding works by both Ukrainian composers and world masters. The band's constant performances and active concert activities were highly praised by professional artists both in their hometown and throughout Ukraine and abroad. The choir has existed for 40 years, gaining more and more popularity and public support every year. What is the secret of such success? The first, in a professional leadership, the second in discipline and finally in a family atmosphere ... We could be sure of that on November 7! After all, the maestro's birthday was full of congratulations, our hall could not accommodate all those who wanted to congratulate Yuri Vasilyevich, so the celebration was in several events! And already in the morning the choir family of the conductor, or to put it simply, the father-inspirer joined the greeting! Their meeting was so pleasant, in one breath and with an impromptu !!! And Yuriy Lyubovych himself could not rest for a moment from a smile. 

Friends, colleagues, artists, painters, poets, journalists came to the second celebration, who were rich in greetings and gifts, but first of all, they gave emotions, and there was no place to put flowers !!! Most noted that the jubilee had a difficult character or was difficult with him, but all unanimously confessed their love for him and said that his sincerity and charisma were worthy of honor.        

Lyubovych Yurii Vasyliovych is one of the initiators of the All-Ukrainian festival-competition "Neuhaus Music Meetings" launched in Kirovohrad Region, Honored Artist of Ukraine, awarded the Kirovohrad City Council Executive Committee "For Merits". By the decision of the Kirovohrad city in 2005 Yuriy Vasyliovych Lyubovych was awarded the title "Honorary Citizen of Kirovohrad".

The exhibition presents more than a hundred exhibits, including works of art by famous artists and masters of Steppe Greece and Ukraine, as well as a collection of awards, diplomas, personal belongings and photographs by Yuri Vasilyevich.

The exhibition is rich in various works of art. Particular attention should be paid to the works of fellow artists: Lyubov Kiryanova and her epic masterpieces of fine arts "Conductor" and "Portrait of Lyubovych", Vladimir Volokhov, brothers Sergei and Anatoly Shapovalov, batik incredible Maria Tserna, chairman of the Kirovograd regional organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Hvorost, Honored Artist of Ukraine Andriy Nadezhdin and master of naive painting Andriy Lipatov, whose work decorates the building of our museum with the fresco "Heart of the City".

Moreover, on his birthday everyone was accustomed to the birthday boy receiving gifts, but the opposite happened, Yuriy Vasyliovych decided that the works presented at the exhibition will replenish the stock collection of our museum, which is a great contribution to the cultural development of our country! We thank the maestro for expanding our museum treasury and once again congratulate you on the past holiday !!!! We wish you inspiration, health and longevity and see you on the 100th anniversary!
