On the eve of St. Valentine's Day, February 12, 2021, an exposition of reproductions of paintings from the stock collection of the Museum "Lovers" was opened in the window of the building of the Art Museum Department - Art Gallery "World and Fatherland" named after PEtro Ossovskyi. On February 14, couples around the world celebrate St. Valentine's Day.
Valentine's Day - a holiday full of pleasant surprises, interesting gifts, unexpected moments. No wonder it is celebrated on the eve of spring - the seasons when the feelings, waking up with nature, become even stronger This day is special for everyone. The main thing is that he was imbued with the sincerity of feelings and the warmth of a loving heart.
On the occasion of St. Valentine's Day, the Museum of Arts presents an exhibition of reproductions of paintings from the stock collection of the Museum "Lovers", which has an atmosphere of tenderness and romance.
The exposition includes 15 photos, which show the relationship between lovers. The artist Anatoly Suzyumov (1941-2017) was inspired to create the work "Kiss" (2002) by the kiss of two lovers who met in the middle of bright yellow and pale white flowers - mysterious, with indistinct features, which only intrigues and enhances the desire to fantasize. and at the same time full of tenderness and warmth, with joyful embraces. It is very difficult to convey all its power through art. A fragile woman in a red dress clung to the manly figure of a man, their faces merging in a kiss. It seems that you are not just looking at the picture, but as if contemplating this meeting from the side. Another second and lovers will return their happy looks and notice that they are no longer alone. The monotonous space around them does not distract attention to detail, but focuses on the manifestation of feelings.
They continue to reveal all the colors of emotions and feelings associated with the love of the work of the next talented artists. These are the works of Vasyl Zavgorodny (1925-2009) "Lovers", Peter Kodiev (1899-1968) "Evening Melody", Leonid Korneev (1922-2009) "Youth", Yakov Kalashnik (1927-1967) "Love", Yuri Lutskevich ( 1934-2001) "Two", Anatoly Dobrolezha (1930-2009) "Two", Vasily Timm (1820-1895) "Chukhon boys and girls" and Alexei Kakal (1943 -2018) "Play me, bagpipes."
When you look at them, it seems that there are really only two lovers, special to each other, and the very moment when no one around and the whole world waits. Vitaliy Kolesnichenko's (1933-2015) painting "Rivals" is full of extraordinary emotionality and the painting "Go, go, rain!" With warmth and tenderness. (2010). Also interesting are the images of lovers made in the style of "naive art" by the original artist Nadezhda Padurskaya (born 1943) "Love", "Because we are as paired as mugs are painted", "Because we are so paired…".
For reference: There is no reliable information about where the tradition of celebrating Valentine's Day originated - some consider the homeland of the significant day - England, others - France. According to legend, Valentine's Day honors the great martyr Valentine - a priest who, contrary to the order of Emperor Claudius II, which forbade young men to have a family, secretly married lovers. The ruler believed that a single man, not burdened by family life, has a chance to become a better warrior, because his thoughts are occupied only with future battles. The priest's actions were soon declassified, Valentin himself appeared in court, was severely tortured, and was later executed. The night before the execution, he wrote a letter to his beloved - a confession of love in poetic form. Later, such letters became known as "valentines". The date of death of the great martyr falls on February 14. A long time passed, in the 14th century the priest Valentine was canonized - for good deeds he was considered a saint. Since then, Valentine's Day is actively celebrated in Europe and in our country.
We wish everyone true, sincere love in life.
Love and be loved and happy.
