On the eve of May 9, 2021 in the Art Museum of Kirovohrad Regional Council an exhibition of works" Morning of my museum" dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum (now - the Art Museum) was opened for visitors. Exactly 20 years ago, and very symbolically - on Victory Day, an extraordinary and long-awaited event took place. If to be precise - the regional art museum, which previously limited its exhibition activities only to the format of traveling exhibitions, finally opened its doors to visitors.
This was made possible by a combination of several factors, including the indifference of the local community, which did not tire of raising the issue to local authorities, the political will of the regional leadership, understanding and support at the Kyiv level, and true heroism and self-sacrifice. The staff of the regional art museum, which bore an incredible physical and emotional burden, and finally, overcoming all obstacles, made an invaluable gift to ardent fans of highly professional art and patriots of their native land.
It is sufficient to recall the huge crowd of people standing on May 9, 2001 near the museum. Halls of the museum could not then accommodate all those wishing to take part in the official opening ceremony, which caused to dissatisfaction to many visitors instead of understanding the situation and realizing what cost to bring to life what seemed impossible. After all, behind the scenes there are many unpleasant moments associated with the solution of organizational and economic issues in the shortest possible time, one-man night shifts of the main custodian of funds due to the absence of museum alarm, the need to turn for help to colleagues from the regional museum of local lore, whose labor landing has put its friendly shoulder. All this will forever be remembered by those who had the honor of becoming the first employees of the now recognized artistic pearl of the region. And one who goes the first, as you know, suffers the most.
This heroic team of pioneers was then headed by a graduate of the St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.Yu. Repina, a principled supporter of realistic painting, is currently a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Valery Mykolayovych Davydov, whose painting "Morning of my museum" (2017) became a symbolic component of the exhibition of the same name.
The work of a member of National Union of Artists of Ukraine, head of the art gallery named after Peter Ossovsky "World and Fatherland", Anatoly Kimnatny can also be considered a dedication to the Museum of Arts National. The artist painted a museum building, the wall of which is already decorated with a magnificent MURAL, and the passers-by depicted there are specific people, one way or another connected with our institution. The painting was created last year during a plein air as part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the All-Ukrainian festival of theatrical art "September Gems".
In general, the concept of the exhibition is to present works that have been transferred, or even specially created just for the opening of the regional art museum. A significant part of the exhibition consists of paintings by the artist, whose work even gave rise to such a concept as the "era of Vladimir Fedorov." Volodymyr Olexandrovych (1920-1986) was a comprehensively developed personality, had encyclopedic knowledge, was fond of literature, history, world art, was fluent in art trends, knew music. His creative work includes topics related to the figures of Taras Shevchenko, the Decembrists, etc.
He created a whole portrait gallery, a series of seascapes, thematic paintings, in particular - on historical and theatrical themes, left behind several albums of drawings depicting the actors of the theater, many of whom were his friends. Having survived the horrors of war, he, like a child, rejoiced in every day of peace, appreciating and enjoying life. Perhaps that is why the artist's work is so cheerful, life-affirming, sunny, optimistic, which is especially important in our depressed times. A merry-maker, a rascal, a romantic, he was able to find poetry in absolutely prosaic things, in particular - production themes, becoming a chronicler of his era.
Among the master's paintings presented at the exhibition are several portraits of his wife Nina Georgievna, who during Vladimir Fedorov's lifetime was everything to him - a reliable rear, friend, muse, guardian angel, and later did everything possible to promote her husband's work.
She handed over to the stock collection of the museum more than a thousand of his works and things, which in the long run makes it possible, provided there is a suitable room, to open at least the gallery of Volodymyr Fedorov.
The work "Memories of a Father" (1986), a graduate of Simferopol Art School named after M. Samokysh and Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. Repin, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Oleksandr Semenovych, is imbued with warm lyricism. which, like Fedorov, was chronicler of the life of the then country.
Moreover, Oleksandr Logvyniuk is a vivid example of how, being born in another region, man became an integral part of the artistic life of our Steppe Greece, praising its beauty in the architectural and natural aspect. The visitor of the exhibition may be surprised by the authorship of one of the works on the production theme "Portrait of the Builder KremGES Agapov", because for many works of fellow countryman, Honored Artist of Ukraine, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, ardent ukrainophile Borys Mikhailovich Vintenko (1927-2002) are associated exclusively with unique master`s technique, what has long been his calling card, called "shimmering" or "hazy" painting. The leading theme in the artist's work was the image of his native steppe Ukraine, which Vintenko declared his love for his amazing landscapes, what became, according to experts, a profound philosophical reflection of the harmony of nature and eternity.
The works of artists whose work goes beyond the canons of realistic art are distinguished by their unique philosophy and worldview. Among them are People's Artist of Ukraine, founder and longtime head of the Kirovohrad regional organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Mykhailo Volodymyrovych Nadezhdin, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Fedir Fedorovych Lagno, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, former employee of the Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum Yuriy Borysovych
Goncharenko. The latter's work is characterized by significance, symbolism and unique author's technique as a kind of symbiosis of decorative painting and pop art culture. The works of these artists presented in the exhibition create a surprising contrast with the paintings of a realistic direction, making the exhibition even more multifaceted and interesting. Part of the exposition consists of illustrative and informative material - printed materials of the Art Museum and photos of its staff of various times, because it is people who breathe life into an architectural structure, turning it into a unique artistic gem.
