On August 17, 2021, an exposition of works by Anatoliy Opanasovych Danilov (1941-2011) dedicated to the 80th anniversary of his birth was opened in the Art Museum Department - Art Gallery "World and Fatherland" named after Peter Ossovskyi
Anatoly Danilov was born in 1941 in the village Kanizhi, Novomyrhorod district, Kirovohrad region. Since childhood he enjoyed drawing. After graduating school, he could not choose a future profession for a long time. So he continued his studies at the Kirovohrad Technical School. It was at school, studying to be a foundryman, Anatoly met artists who helped the boy a lot. And in 1966 he entered the Leningrad Art School named after V. Serov (since 1992 - St. Petersburg Art School named after NK Roerich), who graduated with honors in 1970. Professor Kirill Johansen drew attention to the talented student at the school and invited him to study at the Faculty of Monumental and Decorative Painting of the Leningrad Higher School of Arts and Crafts named after V.G. Mukhina (since 1994 - St. Petersburg State Academy of Arts and Industry named after A.L. Stiglitz).
Anatoly Danilov left the school with thorough skills and knowledge. In 1975 he returned to his native Kirovograd region. Anatoliy Opanasovych worked as an artist in the art and production workshops of the Art Fund of the Ukrainian SSR until 2000.
Over the years, he made dozens of paintings. In 1992, his most famous work was created - a mosaic on the facade of the Central Ukrainian National Technical University "Touch". This is a unique exhibit of a self-sufficient art form of "monumental mosaic". The combination of colors and an unusual image creates unearthly images with a deep philosophical meaning. The size of the panel 320 m2 enhances the impression.
The artist worked in various genres - painting, graphics, was constantly in search of creativity. Danilov's work is characterized by a clear composition, well-thought-out colors. The portraits made by him, romantic, lyrical, marked by the author's thoughts and his attitude to the model, are monochrome in color.
The images of the compositions are clearly delineated, deeply individual. The exhibition presents one of the most interesting pages of the artist's work - it's flowers. They seem to be frozen in anticipation of liberation from gravity and are ready to fly into the infinity of space. His works radiate love for the flourishing Ukrainian nature, vitality, festivity and optimism. This is his dialogue about the beautiful with the viewer, an invitation to a country where mysterious, sweet-hearted, beautiful flowers bloom.
Works by Anatoly Opanasovich are stored in the Art Museum and in private collections in Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Germany and the United States. The name of Anatoliy Danilov is listed in the Encyclopedia of Modern Ukraine.
