The other day, on February 12, 2021, an exposition dedicated to the celebration of the Chinese New Year: "Eastern Spring in the middle of Winter" was opened at Kropyvnytskyi Art Museum.
At the Art Museum, we continue to develop in the direction of Eastern Culture and Art. And today our visitors can not only hear about life in the East, learn about the differences between us and people of other nationalities, but also touch their culture, because the Art Museum has prepared for you an incredibly interesting and informative exhibition about Chinese culture.
The exhibition is named after the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year). The Chinese use the lunar calendar, and mark the new year with the arrival of spring. And for them, the Spring Festival is the most significant holiday of the year. Therefore, the exhibition "Eastern Spring in the middle of winter" is surprisingly well suited to the theme of the Chinese New Year.
However, the exhibition is dedicated not only to this holiday, but also to the culture of the Celestial Empire in general. The viewer will be able to see many elements that are inherent in this people. The exposition acquaints with the traditions of the tea ceremony and its utensils, you will be able to see the elements of traditional costume - tsipao dresses, also presents the elements necessary for the art of calligraphy, and elements of Chinese embroidery - Jiang Zhi.
The exhibition presents paintings in the Chinese style, which depict flowers that are symbols of China: sakura, orchid, peony. Several works were created just for our exhibition. The Chinese love drawing on fabric, batik. Our creators also decided to perform their work in this technique. The paints on the work of Anna Tatarova "Peony" of our artist-restorer of the II category of the fund department, and Maria Voichenko "Eastern sakura" of our researcher of the Funds Department have not dried yet. The exposition is complemented by works from the stock collection of the Art Museum with the image of flowers, which are primarily associated with China. These are the works of Leontiy Orlyk, Halyna Horodnicheva and Svitlana Khavronenko.
We hope you can be inspired by our eastern spring. We invite you to our museum!
