On August 28, 2021, the Museum of Arts opened an exhibition "Heroes do not die" dedicated to the bright memory of the soldier of the 42nd Battalion of Territorial Defense Victor Goly.
Goly Viktor Anatoliyovych was born on September 28, 1981 in Znamyanshchyna. He received two degrees. In 2003 he graduated
Kirovohrad State Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Vynnychenko with a degree in History and Geography, and in 2007 Dnypropetrovsk Regional Institute of Public Administration of the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine with a degree in Public Administration.
In 2007-2008 he worked in Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration on various positions, from 2008 to 2009 he worked as a history teacher at Znamyansk Secondary School №1, from February 2010 to May 31, 2013 he worked as a Methodist for Tourism Znamyanka city Museum of Local Lore.
He was gunery of the Chornoliska Hundred of the Chornolisky Kuren of the Bugo-Gardivsky District of Ukrainian Cossacks, a member of All-Ukrainian Society "Prosvita", and since 2010 a member of the All-Ukrainian Association Svoboda. Victor's life beliefs were largely formed under the influence of the worldview of his grandfather Mykola, who, according to his stories, was sincerely in love with Ukraine. I met Victor personally in 2010-2011, he was a wonderful man, a patriot with a capital letter, he was not indifferent to everything that was happening in our country. Being a history teacher by education, Victor predicted that for the free and united Ukraine, which he saw in his imagination, will have to fight. So he prepared himself for this, being in the ranks of the Ukrainian Cossacks.
When he appeared among museum workers, he caused a real sensation: in a Cossack robe, with cossack hairstyle and, of course, in an embroidered shirt, people were drawn to him. Vitya possessed encyclopedic knowledge of Ukrainian history, specialized in research of its Cossack era and the period of the Ukrainian revolution of 1917-1923, was professionally engaged in archeology, was a decent, kind, modest and sincere man. And these are not simple words, as they say, life is not easy for such people. Having his principled position on the views on the development of the state, Victor, despite all the life circumstances, defended them, being in the ranks of the All-Ukrainian Union "Freedom", as deputy chairman of its territorial organization. The former government could not tolerate the young patriot for a long time as a methodologist for tourism at the Znamyansk City Museum of Local Lore, and on May 31, 2013, he was fired from his favorite job. That is, the authorities have found an opportunity to get rid of an uncomfortable person.
An interesting moment in the life of the Hero was the episode with the change of surname, for a long time Victor bore the surname Golikov, which passed to him from his father. Although the real name of the Goli family. In 1970-1980 of the last century, his father Anatoly Nikolaevich under the pressure of life circumstances, studying at the Kirovograd Pedagogical Institute, was forced to change his name to Golikov. This problem bothered Victor for a long time, he had the idea to return the family's historical name, knowing all the legal consequences of his step. When he solved this problem, I once asked him: "Vitya, why did you change your last name?" He smiled mysteriously in response.
In November 2013, when the events of the Revolution of Dignity began in our country, Victor was at home, his son Myroslav had just been born, followed the events, called his brothers, and sincerely believed in the bright future of Ukraine. When the separatist uprising in the east of our country began in March 2014, Victor could not stand aside. He began to apply to the military registration and enlistment office to be able to defend the country from Russian aggression. He was unable to join the army immediately and had some health problems. Only on June 19, 2014, he was enlisted in the 42nd Territorial Defense Battalion. According to the commander of the unit in which Victor served, it became known that he really wanted to learn to own weapons well, to learn all the skills of military skill. Already on August 7, 2014, the unit went east and was based in the city of Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, with the task of guarding the airport.
On August 28, 2014, Victor and his comrades went on a combat mission to accompany a column of food to the city of Debaltseve (Donetsk region).
During the execution of the combat mission, the column was ambushed. An enemy sniper fatally struck the driver of their car, Mykola Sypchenko, by deploying an anti-aircraft gun, the boys entered the battle, firing more than two hundred shells at the enemies, inflicting considerable losses on them. Victor, along with other servicemen, covered the departure of the column. As a result of the battle, the column retreated, but at what cost - taking fire Vitya-Cossack, died in battle with enemies of Ukraine under mortar fire of militants, as Ukrainian Cossacks died in past centuries, whose lives were researched, studied and respected by Victor Anatolyevich Goly.
The youtube posted a video of separatists handing over the bodies of our fallen soldiers Mykola Sypchenko and Viktor Goly, according to the separatists themselves, they wanted to bury them in a cemetery in the town of Bryanka (Luhansk region), but then decided that these soldiers were worthy of to be buried at home, so the separatists decided to hand over the bodies to Ukrainian servicemen for further burial.
Victor lived the life of a Cossack, sincerely admired Ukrainian history, local lore, archeology. He put all his broad soul into his work. He was the initiator of the creation in 2010 on the basis of the Znamyansk City Museum of Local Lore of the city public organization tourist and local lore club "Chornolissya", which aims to organize leisure for city residents, promote a healthy lifestyle and coordinate all types of tourism in the city. He was regularly a personal organizer and participant in various tourist competitions and events. During his work at the Znamyansk City Museum of Local Lore, Victor has created more than ten tourist routes, most of which are quite popular among residents and guests of the city.
At a high professional level, he was engaged in local history research, topics of his research: "Archeology of the native land", "Cossack period of the history of the region", "Settlement of the region" and others. A peculiar result of his work was the diploma of the winner of the competition "The best museum of Kirovograd region" for the honorable second place in the nomination "The best scientific research", which he never received.
The Hero is buried in the cemetery of the village of Ploske, Znamyansky district, as he bequeathed at the grave of his grandfather.
Heroes do not die in our earthly life as long as human memory and awareness of our responsibility for the future are alive!
Glory to Ukraine!
