On April 30, 2021, an exhibition of works dedicated to Easter was opened at the Art Museum.

Easter is an ancient holiday of spring, as our ancestors believed, the complete victory of spring - summer over winter, the victory of life over death, a holiday of conjugal love and harmony in the family. After the introduction of Christianity, Easter is known to be associated with the biblical legend of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Easter is considered the biggest day of the year, because then life rises - the Sun. And the whole world praises the resurrection. To the birth of love, kindness, hope and joy of life. The ancestors believed that on this day the Lord opens the sky and through the gates of heaven brings purifying fire into human souls.

According to the belief, Ora was born from the fiery Egg-paradise in the vortex - the life-creating space, this is the world where the Tree of Life grew. It was in artistic and figurative language that Vasyl Zavhorodniy (1925-2009) portrayed the Egg-Raytse in his work.

Two paintings "Easter Morning" (1994) by Victor Osipenko (1958-2016) and "Easter" (1989) by Anatoly Danilov (1941-2011) about the expectations of Easter.

One of the ancient Easter traditions was the making of Easter eggs and Easter eggs. The ornaments of which conveyed to us the response of the ancestors' ideas about the nature of heaven and earth.

The exhibition presents "Still Life with Easter Eggs" (2001) well-known to art connoisseurs Kirovograd artist, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Anatoly Dvorsky (1948-2010), who once turned in paintings and graphics to the spiritual culture of our ancestors, looking for the ideal of modernity in reflections of the past. The images in his paintings are full of archaic power, expression, movement, energy of action. Powerful color, emphasized by line graphics and language ornamentation, enhance the significance and symbolism of the image.

A special sacred sacrifice to God on Easter was a loaf sprinkled with millet, which symbolizes the birth and fullness of life: "Still life. Easter ”(2009), Larysa Zorina (born in 1960).

On Easter, young people always danced round dances and sang songs. Walking in a circle around the Sun was supposed to promote the rapid awakening and flourishing of nature. It is on this topic that the exhibition presents the work of Larysa Zorina (b. 1960) "Easter Fun" (2012).

Easter was preceded by Palm Sunday and with this name the painting "Palm Sunday" (2006) by an artist from Luhansk region, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Volodymyr Kozlov (b. 1951) is also presented in the exhibition.
