On December 11, 2020, an exhibition dedicated to the works of fellow artists was opened at the Art Museum of the Kirovohrad Regional Council: the 90th anniversary of the birth of Anatoliy Timofeevich Dobrolezha and the 95th anniversary of Mykola Timofeevich Dobrolezha.
Anatoliy Dobrolezha was born on December 10, 1930 in the village of Skopiyivka, Dobrovelychkivsky district, Kirovohrad region. In 1957 he graduated Odessa Art School. He graduated the Art Faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography in Moscow and received a degree in design in 1963. Since the same year he worked at Kyiv Film Studio named after Oleksandr Dovzhenko and created sketches of scenery for famous feature films: "The Law of Antarctica" (1963, directed by T. Levchuk), "Commissioners" (1970, directed by M. Mashchenko), "Thoughts about British "(1969, directed by M. Vingranovsky)," Anna and the Commander "(1974, directed by E. Khrinyuk)," The Romashkin Effect "(1973, directed by R. Balayan)," Ovid "(1980, directed by M. Mashchenko) and others .
In 1965 Anatoly Timofiyovych became a member of the Union of Cinematographers, and in 1967 the master was admitted to the Union of Artists of the USSR. In the 60s and 70s of the 20th century, Anatoliy Dobrolezha was an illustrator for the magazine “Ukraina”, and throughout his creative life he designed more than 40 fiction and nonfiction books. For the development of Ukrainian theater and cinema in 2003, Anatoliy Tymofiyovych was awarded the title - Honored Artist of Ukraine. In the same year the master took part in an art exhibition in Paris.
The stock collection of the Museum of Arts includes about 400 works by the artist. In 2008, Anatoliy Tymofiyovych donated 16 graphic works to the museum's funds, and after his death in 2010, the artist's wife Aisiya Vasylivna donated a large creative legacy of the artist - 230 illustrations and scenery to the films "Thought about the British", "New Glory of Ivan Semenovich" , "Ovid", "Discovery of Antarctica", "Rage", "Star Color". And, recently, in September 2020, the artist's family transferred to the museum's treasury 148 works of the master - sketches and explications for the films "Sespel", "Golden Docking", "Cancan in the English Park", "Love Wins", which were created in Kiev Alexander Dovzhenko feature film studio. We are sincerely grateful to the family of the artist, and directly to Asia Vasylivna for a wonderful gift and replenishment of the stock collection. The artist's works are constantly exhibited at numerous thematic and group exhibitions.
Mykola Dobrolezha was born on December 22, 1925 in the village of Skopiivka, Dobrovelychkivsky District, Kirovohrad Region. The end of school coincided with the beginning of the war and yesterday's student went to the front, became a radio operator, took part in combat operations in European countries. Twice wounded, he returned home disabled. Has numerous awards. In 1953 he graduated Odessa Art School. Returning to his native home, he worked as a production designer at Kirovograd Music and Drama Theater named after M. Kropyvnytsky (1953-1954) and artist - director of Kirovograd Russian Drama Theater named after S. Kirov (1954-1956). Later he was an artist of the regional newspaper "Kirovogradskaya Pravda" and an artist-designer of Kirovograd art and production workshops of the Art Fund of the USSR (1964-1970). Simultaneously with his work in our city, he studied at Ukrainian Polygraphic Institute named after I. Fedorov in Lviv until 1967.
Mykola Dobrolezha was a versatile artist, but his main vocation was scenography. From 1954 he took part in republican, and since 1967 - in All-Union and foreign art exhibitions. In 1970 he became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. The first personal exhibition of the master took place in the regional center in 1975. For the development of fine arts - was awarded 15 government awards. Love for the theater did not leave the master. He collaborated as a production designer with the Kirovohrad Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater named after M. Kropyvnytsky, traveled by invitation to the theaters of Odessa, Mykolayiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Sumy. He was an artist who set more than 100 performances. Mykola Tymofiiovych spent a lot of time designing books, creating graphic works, writing with oil paints, pastels, gouache, and worked on linocuts.
During his life, M.T. Dobrolezha designed about 20 books, in easel graphics he reflected the events of the Second World War and the themes of the ancient history of the Ukrainian people based on folk songs and thoughts. In order to honor the memory of the artist - a fellow countryman Dobrolezha Mykola Tymofiyovych a memorial plaque has been installed in the house where the master lived at Velyka Perspektyvna St.8, Kropyvnytskyi. The funds of the Art Museum contain graphic works of the master - decorations and sketches for the performances "Give the heart freedom, lead into captivity", "Martin Borulya", "Iron Rose", "May Night". His works take part in many thematic and group exhibitions. All these works are presented today in the exposition of the Art Museum on the occasion of the artist's anniversary. Today's exhibition presents the work of two brothers- artists - Mykola and Anatoliy Dobrolezha, who dedicated their lives to theatrical, cinematography and fine arts, what is an example of a wonderful artistic creative tandem of our compatriots.
