Every year on April 18, the world commemorates the International Day of Monuments and Sites, and in Ukraine this holiday is still known as the Day of Monuments of History and Culture.
This day reminds society of the importance of monuments and sites in human life. It is the historic monuments, that allow people to keep a spiritual connection between the different generations who lived in the area. If a monument is disappeared or destroyed, the connection between generations of nation is endangered, because when people, who remember this monument, pass away, this connection will be broken off. The nation that does not have historical monuments is easy to subdue, to impose one`s vision of reality, worldview, principles of being on it.
Therefore, as we can see, monuments and sites are of great importance in society. Their preservation, restoration, popularization is a task for the public and state institutions. In today's urban world, historical monuments and sites can play a significant economic role, considering that the tourism industry is actively developing in the world and in Ukraine in particular. Using history monuments and sites as an economic component will not only help to preserve and restore them, but also to make significant profit. It is no coincidence that the leading economists of modern post-industrial society pay great attention to the development of the tourism industry, they actively build hotels, develop transport infrastructure, invest greatly in the reconstruction and restoration of cultural heritage.
The exhibition "Pearls of Architectural Heritage" features paintings from the funds of the Regional Art Museum: Sergiy Shishka “In the park named after T.G. Shevchenko", Anatolii Gorbenko "There is spring in Chernihiv Region", Nataliia Soloviova "Premiere", Anatolii Shapovalov "The Art Museum in Kropyvnytskyi". These works represent cultural heritage monuments and sites, convey their character through the artist`s mastery of brush techiques, perpetuate monuments in paintings, because due to human activity, these monuments will someday disappear in the real world, and the memory of them will remain on the canvas. Looking at the works presented in the exhibition, the viewer travels in his imagination to the sights of Ukraine and Kropyvnytskyi. Brush masters have been able to convey the unparalleled beauty of cultural heritage, which is a good advertisement for these places. The beauty of the native land represented on the canvas makes the viewer more attentive and careful to the environment in which he lives and encourages the study and preservation of Ukraine's cultural heritage.
