"Small ship, raise your flag.

Little ship, return home.

With the wind of the sea, on the sea wave,

through the foam of the sea, under the wing of the albatross.

Small boat, come home »

(Beata Kurkul)

On May 2, 2019, the exhibition «Return to Home» was opened in the Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum as part of a charity project to assist and support prisoners of war.

The date of November 25, 2018 entered the history of today, as the sun of open aggression of the Russian Federation against  Ukraine. At 7.00 am, a Ukrainian squadron of the Navy Boats of Ukraine Berdyansk and Nikopol and the « Yana Kapu» raid launched a planned transition from the Odessa city port to Mariupol. It was the beginning of the confrontation of Ukrainian sailors with the Russian border guards, which started firing at the defeat in the Kerch Strait near the Russian bridge built by Russian invaders and they began firing at the defeat. During the planned retreat of Ukrainian ships after the shelling, a small armored artillery boat Berdyansk was already damaged in neutral waters. It was a planned shot at being impressed, as they shot at the armored capsule where the crew were. 24 Ukrainian sailors who admitted themselves to be prisoners of war, referring to the 3rd Geneva Convention (International Document Governing the Treatment of Prisoners of War) were arrested in the course of the further confrontation. As of today, legal proceedings against Ukrainian sailors are ongoing  in  courts of the city of Moscow. The Russian court extended their detention in Lefortovo detention center until July 24-26, 2019.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine regarded Russia's aggressive actions against the navy of the Armed Forces as a violation of the norms of the UN Charter and the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
