On November 27, 2018, in the Kirovograd Regional Art Museum, it was opened a personal anniversary exhibition of photographs of the member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine Ihor Filipenko “Picturesque beauty of the native shore.”

It is difficult to find in our city (of course, in certain circles) a person who would not know Ihor Ivanovych Filipenko. Being always with his camera, focused, he always hurries somewhere and “lively” and quickly covers the most varied events of Kropyvnychchyna. The thing is that Ihor Ivanovych has been fascinated by photographic art since early childhood and has been keeping his camera near himself for more than 40 years. In his work, he tries to show the world around us with all its beauty. Therefore, the main genre of the master is a reportage “live photo,” and the main object of the author's shooting is a person.

Ihor Ivanovych Filipenko is a professional photo reporter and journalist, a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine. He broke into journalism in 1999. His first materials were published in the All-Ukrainian title “Tsikava Hazeta.” Thanks to one of his publication, he was recognized as the best author of 1999. In the field of photography and journalism, he began his professional activity in the spring of 2004, when he received an offer to occupy a post of photo reporter in the first Kirovohrad color newspaper “Kirovohrad Vechirnii.” Since the end of 2005, he has been holding the position of the deputy head editor of the regional newspaper “Kirovohrad Vechirnii.” The works of Ihor Ivanovych were published in many regional titles such as “Narodne Slovo,” “Vechirnia Hazeta,” “Ukraine – Center,” “Novyi Pohliad,” “100th Okruh,” “Viedomosti Plus,” “Kirovohrad Pravda,” as well as in Ukrainian titles – “Holos Ukrainy,” “Correspondent,” “Volia”, etc. Since 2007 he has been cooperating with “UKRINFORM PHOTO.” In the same year, he was appointed editor-in-chief of the Kirovograd regional newspaper “100th Okruh.”

On November 27, 2008, it was created an online media “FOTOINFORM” (now it is the portal “FOTOINFORM.NET”), which for a decade has been covering different events and ceremonies that take place not only in the city and region but also in other regions of Ukraine.

Ihor Ivanovych was many times awarded different certificates and letters of acknowledgement for his activity, namely the Certificate of Merit of Kirovohrad Regional Council and Regional State Administration for public activity in Kirovohrad Center of All-Ukrainian Non-Governmental Organization “Chernobyl Union of Ukraine” (2005), the Certificate of Merit of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (2006), the Certificate of Merit of Kirovohrad Regional Council and Regional State Administration (2007). In 2007, he was a winner of the regional journalistic prize in the nomination “Photojournalism.” In 2008, he won the 1st place in the regional competition “Kirovohradshchyna, be green!” For participation in photo competition “Kirovohrad in the eyes of citizens” he was awarded the Certificate of Merit of Kirovohrad City Council and Executive Committee (2008), and in 2009, he was awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Kirovohrad Regional State Administration. In 2009, he was awarded the badge of honor of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine and became one of the finalists of the photo contest, which was organized by the Professional Football League of Ukraine, and in 2010, Kirovohrad City Council and Executive Committee awarded him the Order of Merit 2nd Class. In 2011, he became the winner of the All-Ukrainian contest “Small and Medium Business in Focus” (the exhibition was held within the walls of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine), and in 2012 he became one of the finalists of the All-Ukrainian contest “Human Rights in Focus.” This year he was also awarded by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, and in 2013 – by the Ministry of Revenues and Duties of Ukraine. In this period, he was also awarded certificates and diplomas by the CA of the SES of Ukraine in Kirovohrad region, by the Administration of the MIA of Ukraine in Kirovohrad region and by other organizations. 2016 – the second place in the competition for the best artwork “Healing Power of Art” in the nomination “Photo Artists.” In 2017, he won the fifth place in the All-Ukrainian competition of photo correspondents who cover journalistic activity (the photos of the winners were shown at the National Museum of the History of Ukraine), as well as received a certificate of participation in the 3rd International photo contest 35 AWARDS and was awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Let us remind you of the personal exhibition of photographs of the artist: “From a bird’s eye view” (2006, 2009 – KRURL named after D. I. Chizhevsky), “Fleeting Moment – Stay” (2009), “Kirovohrad in Personalities” (2011), “Face of Kirovograd Journalism” (2013). Our team of KRAM is pleased to note the fact that all four personal exhibitions were opened in the walls of the art museum.

The anniversary (fifth) exhibition of photographs of the member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine Ihor Filipenko is called “Picturesque Beauty of the Native Shore.” The exhibition introduces 20 photos that show us, viewers, the beauty of nature, architectural structures, the charm of the corners of the streets of Kropyvnitskyi... Indeed, this is a confession of love to his hometown!

During the opening of the exhibition, Ihor Ivanovych transferred one of his photographs to the stock collection of our institution – “Kirovograd Regional Art Museum.”
