The solemn opening of the exhibition of artistic works "At the crossroads of fate and art" occurred in the apartment of Kirovograd Regional Art Museum on the 20`s of November in 2018 by the members of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, the couple Alexander and Lyudmila Demidenko.

Opening in the walls of the regional art museum of numerous exhibitions, presents the creativity of the masters of the brush of different regions of our country has long become a commonplace for local fans of fine arts. But there is a special pride primarily caused by artist`s exhibitions, which have become an integral part of the unique artistic constellation of our own Steppe Hellas.

We perceive the artist practically as our fellow countryman, although he is a representative of the legendary Cossack region, he was born on 20`s of November in 1966 in Tokmak, Zaporizhia region. He studied at a children's art school and a fine art studio in the same city under the direction of a teacher - Vadim Brovchenko.

Alexander Demidenko graduated from Dnipropetrovsk State Art School in 1988, and art-graphic faculty of Kryvyi Rih Pedagogical Institute in 1995.

The artist has been living in the city of Kirovograd since 1991. The obtained higher artistic education gave the opportunity to teach the special disciplines at the Faculty of Industrial Design of the Kirovohrad Institute of Regional Management and Economics in 1996-1999, and Oleksandr Volodymyrovych was a teacher at the Art Faculty of the Volodymyr Vynnychenko Kirovohrad State Pedagogical University during 2003-2012. The artist has the opportunity to use his creative skills and pedagogical abilities as a head of the fine arts group at the Kirovograd National Technical University's Mechanical Engineering College.

Oleksandr Demidenko is an active participant in numerous exhibition projects of various levels, in particular, international level, as well as various plein airs, among them - All-Ukrainian plein air “Spring. Bukovel. 2012» (Tourist Complex «Bukovel», May 2012), plein air «Pearl of Transcarpathia» (Kvasy village of Rakhiv district of Ivano-Frankivsk region, June 2012). He participated repeatedly in the Kirovograd Art Exhibitions «Kirovograd region - by the eyes of artists», in particular - in Onufriyiv (2005), Oleksandriya (2006), Novoarhangelsk (2011) and Dobrovelychkovsky (2013) districts.

Our city repeatedly became a witness to personal exhibitions of the artist - in the art salon of the Kirovohrad regional organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1993), in Kirovograd Branch of Prominvestbank (1997), in the Osmorkin memorial museum (2006), Kirovograd Oblast Philharmonic (2009).

And Kiev`s residents and guests had the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful works of the master during the presentation of his exhibitions at the UMC Head Office (2003), the gallery of studios of professional art, folk art and decorative applied art «Kolokil» (2012) and other Kyiv galleries – «Lada», «Griffon», «Yaroslavna», «Nef», «Art Boyko. Globe».

The fact that the artist actively cooperates with the galleries of the Czech Republic, in particular, in Prague, and he was also awarded the diploma of the participant of the project «AviArt 2012», which took place on the board of the plane of the Academy of Sciences «Dream» in September 2012.

Nowadays the paintings of Alexander Demidenko are kept in the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine in Pirogovo, Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum, Osmorkin Art and Memorial Museum, Embassy of Ukraine in the Russian Federation (Moscow) and numerous private collections.

Oleksandr Volodymyrovych was admitted to the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, on the occasion of which the artist pleased adherents of his talent with a personal exhibition in the walls of the regional art museum in December 2013, which became a real event in the artistic life of our city.

It is well-known that Alexander Demidenko is a unique artist, with his unique creative self, a romanticist who prefers a lyrical landscape full of the beauty of nature, light, air, and positivity. Such works can not leave anybody indifferent, they are impressive, captivating, create an appropriate mood, become a decoration of any exhibition on which they are presented, leaving no doubt about their authorship.

All of the above can be attributed to our talented fellow countrywomen painter, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Ludmila Ivanovna Demidenko, who besides systematic participation in various regional and national level exhibitions, has become a real reliable back and fighting companion for her husband. Perhaps it is no coincidence that their steps in the creative path and pedagogical activity often coincide and intertwine.

And Lyudmila made the first steps during the studying at a local children's art school (1980-1984). Then there were years of studying at the Dnipropetrovsk State Art School (1984-1988), at the art and graphic faculty of the Kryvyi Rih Pedagogical Institute (1991-1996), teaching activities at the children's art school of Tokmak, Zaporizhia region (1988- 1990) and art school of the village of Novy Kirovograd district Kirovograd region (1990-1991). Subsequently Lyudmila Ivanovna led the circle of fine arts in the children's and youth center in Kirovohrad (1991-1997), she worked as a teacher of drawing and painting of the department of industrial design of the Kirovohrad Institute of Regional Management and Economics (1997-1999), teacher of drawing and painting of the Kirovograd State Art Faculty Pedagogical University (2006-2012). Lyudmila Demidenko's significant victories in the field of science are evidenced by the fact that in 2010 her student Valentina Sokolovska took the second place by results of the All-Ukrainian contest-plein air of young artists «Picturesque Ukraine» in Crimea, receiving also as a reward a free ticket to the children's camp «Artek». And already next year, the second student Eugene Ivasyuta became the winner of the above competition in the Donbass.

An example and worthy emulation is the fact that Alexander and Lyudmila Demidenko are regular participants in various auctions, including those held in the regional art museum - the annual Easter Auction, «Christmas tree for cyborgs», etc.

To my great regret to this day Lyudmila Ivanovna is not often exhibited her works in the walls of the regional art museum, but the fact that the visitors had time to see in the museum at the time, and this in the first place of all is wonderful women's portraits, which was pleasantly shocked the visitors, raising a lot of questions about when the talented artist more fully presents her creative work.

And finally, this happened due to the exhibition with the eloquent title «At the Crossroads of Fate and Art» in which sixty-eight works of the couple Oleksandr Demidenko (landscapes and still lifes) and Lyudmila Demidenko (portraits) - are presented, giving the opportunity to once again be convinced of the high professionalism of this unique creative duo , whose paintings are able to satisfy the aesthetic tastes of the most discerning audience.

Following the results of the exhibition, the artists transferred two painting to the collection of the museum – «Portrait of a girl» by Lyudmila Demidenko and «Village Landscape» by Alexander Demidenko.

Oleg Yurchenko – the head of the Department of Tourist Information and Information Work of the Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum
