On July 6 people celebrate one of the most romantic and delicate holidays - International Kiss Day. It is everything at once: the manifestation of love, the demonstration of warm family feelings, and friendly greetings, and the expression of passion or gallant respect to a woman. In past, people believed that with the kiss, with breath, you could share a portion of your soul. Therefore, it was treated with a special, sacred attitude. On the holiday celebration Kirovohrad Oblast Art Museum presented display "Kiss through Art: Demonstration of Tenderness and Cordiality". Love reveals the brightest diversity and power of the kiss; love is also one of the main engines of human life. A kiss can give wings, raise to the pinnacles of soul and bring back the taste of life or, otherwise, push to the edge. Therefore, it is not surprising that people devote songs and artworks to a kiss.

The artist Anatolii Suziumov was inspired for the creation of the "Kiss" (2002) by the kiss of two lovers in the midst of bright yellow and light white flowers - mysterious, with obscure lines, which only intrigues and enhances the desire to imagine, which is full of tenderness and warm, with joyful hugs. It is very difficult to express all its power in art. The tender woman in a red dress leaned to the figure of the courageous man, their face merged in the kiss.  It seems that you do not just look at the picture, but as if you were contemplating this meeting aside. In a second, lovers will happily look aside and notice that they are not alone. Homogeneous space around them does not distract attention from the details, but focuses on the manifestation of feelings.

Works of the below mentioned talented artists continue to reveal all the varied emotions and feelings associated with the love, kisses and hugs. Particular attention is drawn to the graphics of Mykhailo Nadiezhdin "Couple" (1972) - the artist portrayed himself and his wife, and when you look at them, it seems that there are really only two lovers, special for one another and the very moment when around there is noone and the whole world can wait. Vitalii Kolesnichenko's picture "Let It Rain!" (2010) is copious of warmth and tenderness. Original artist Nadiia Padurska creates one more interesting image of lovers «Love» in «naive art» style.

International Kiss Day appeared long ago, at the end of the 21st century, apparently in Great Britain. The celebration was always interesting and loud, and at the end of the 20th century, the United Nations approved the holiday as international. Nowadays different countries of the world arrange thematic kisses competitions. The nominations are "the longest kiss", "the most beautiful kiss", "the most unusual kiss" etc.

There are a few interesting facts. The first kiss was screened in the late 19th century. Then, in the 30-second movie of Thomas Edison, the kiss was performed by May Irwin and John Rae. The video itself was called "Kiss". Moreover, a silent film, for example, depicted kisses almost every minute, and was called "Don Juan". It was filmed back in 1926, and depicted 191 kisses. In addition, it is interesting to know how appeared the custom to put crosses to denote kisses at the end of the letter. Middle Ages People were mostly illiterate; therefore, to endorse the contract, people would simply put a cross instead of their names and kissed it to express the sincerity of their intentions. Kissing is very good for health. Did you know that kisses prevent wrinkles, since 29 facial muscles are involved? If you did not know this, then hurry up to kiss your near and dear.
