On December 6, 2017, in the Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum was opened an exhibition of the memory of the artist-fellow countryman, poet, scriptwriter Yuri Botnar (1948-2016) "Lyrical Poetry in Painting".
... A year ago, a talented artist, our fellow countryman, poet, scriptwriter Yuri Semenovich Botnar passed away. He was, without exaggeration, a kind, sincere person, a good artist and an unselfish friend.
He was destined to live an active, full of various events of life, becoming one of those artists who formed the artistic face of Kirovograd region, glorifying him far beyond Ukraine.
Yuriy Semenovich Botnar was born on December 21, 1948 in Kirovograd, although in his passport was another date - January 1, 1949. In 1963 he graduated the Kirovohrad children's art school as part of her first issue, and in 1968 - Kyiv Art-Industrial College. In 1987, he passed final examinations of the graphic faculty of the Ukrainian Printing Institute of Ivan Fedorov, making another significant step on the way to the artistic Olympus.
From 1972 to 1989, Yuri Semenovich worked in our city as an artist in the artistic and production workshops of the Ukrainian Artistic Art Foundation. For active creative work he was repeatedly awarded with certificates and thanksgiving, was a laureate of the regional literary awards to them. Yuriy Yanovsky In the 1980's the artist went to the republican level, illustrating books in the publications: "Soviet writer", "Rainbow", "Youth" ...
In 1989, the artist became the founder of the creative association of young artists "Barva", which systematically organizes various exhibitions, including the International Exhibition of Op Art Victor Vasareli in the cities of Ukraine and the Soviet Union (1989-1992), an exhibition of Ukrainian Fine Arts in Canada and the USA, and the Scythian Gold exhibition in Turku, Finland (1990), an exhibition of Ukrainian landscape and still life in Berlin, Germany (1992). In addition, the association "Barva" under the leadership of Yuri Botnar opens exhibitions of contemporary art and underground in the city of Kiev and European cities. The fact that our fellow countryman has become one of the founders of the charitable foundation Sergey Parajanov is also eloquent. But no matter where his creative life was flooded, the artist never broke ties with his small homeland.
Yuri Semenovich has always been an active participant in numerous artistic plein airs, art exhibitions, including international ones. In addition, the artist was actively engaged in cinema and literary activities, during the lifetime he published the first screenplay and began work on the second, entitled "Behind the Scenes of Surrealism"! And yet we know him as a poet under the pseudonym Georgy Sybodich.
The confirmation of the high professional level of the artist is that his works are in museums and private collections of Ukraine, the USA, Canada, Germany, Finland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Armenia, Israel, Russia.
So our exhibition of memory Yuri Semenovich Botnar, a painter, a wonderful graphic artist, an outstanding master of the lyrical landscape, "Lyrical poetry in painting", because the leading genres of the artist's work have always been landscape and still life, imbued with Ukrainian color and love to their native land ...
