The exhibition of the paintings by 90th birthday of the artist A.Tyhyi

January 10, 2017 in the regional art museum of Kropyvnytskyi there was the virtual exhibition with a picture of Ukrainian artist and pedagogue Ivan Antonovych Tyhyi (1927-1982) "In the renewed earth".
This project is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the artist and now it’s a continuation of a wonderful tradition, which has developed over the years in the Art Museum – of a popularization of creative achievements not only of artists-countrymen, but also of painters in other regions of our country who have a great aesthetic, educational and informative value, aimed on forming the developed culturally personality and ardent patriot of the native country.
Ivan Antonovych Tyhyi is a brilliant representative of realistic painting, a high-level professional, a man with a difficult fate who, by his creative achievements and sacrificial work of art in the field, has become a good example for the imitation of others to the art of Olympus, having earned the immortal memory and gratitude of posterity.
He was born on January 10, 1927 in the Savyntsi village, Izyumskyi district, Kharkiv region. The first four classes he attended in the local village school and then the family moved to their relatives in Sentianivka, Luhansk region, where the future artist finished first "semylitka" (7 classes), and in 1941he successfully attended Luhansk Art College.
But soon the studying was interrupted by the war. Vanya's father was killed at Stalingrad, and he with his mother, who also had another two children, had passed the awful survival school in the German-occupied city, having had survived the bombing, hunger, cold and other hardships of the war. This exposure to enemy-occupied territory affected to some extent on the fate of the artist. Thus, for example, he wasn’t accepted the party because at that time it was an important obstacle to career growth and receiving awards.
In 1943 Ivan Tyhyi resumed his studying in Lugansk Art College. By the way, his diploma work was a picture of "The Restoration of Donbass" (1947), the subject of which is very symbolic and relevant in our war time now. In 1953, Tyhyi finished the Kyiv Art Institute, during training in which he opened his talent of a painter. It's nice that Ivan Antonovych did not subsequently broke with this wonderful educational institution, having worked in it from 1964 until the end of his life as the docent of painting department, which allowed him to open one more talent – a teacher. A clear indicator of relationship of the colleagues and students to Ivan, as an artist and man, are memories that when he returned to college after the summer break, and showed his new works, all the institute gathered to watch them.
Ivan Tyhyi deserved his official recognition. In 1959 he became a member of the Artists Union; in 1964 he received the title of Honored Artist of the USSR. He was also awarded by honorary diplomas for high quality work on the design of the exhibition of excellence in the economy of the USSR (1959), for active participation in the decade of Ukrainian literature and art (1960), and - Diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet (1960).
Contemporaries of this artist described him as the artist's thoughtful portrait painter and a master of the lyrical landscape. "The life of the artist is the entire poem" ? the master’s sister Lydiya Antonovna Tyha said once. "Ivan was a master of the quiet painting and the drawing high-class man of a high spiritual culture and great efficiency" ? his classmate and colleague, Ukrainian painter Yuliy Mykolayovych Yatchenko wrote about the artist.
Indeed, his all creative life the artist confirmed by the accuracy of him as a person and artist features. In his numerous paintings that can be considered as the mirror of that epoch, he strictly followed the principles of realistic thinking and composite high lyricism of colors. He reflected the everyday work of the Soviet people, lyrical images of Slobozhanshchyna nature and paid tribute to patriotic themes.
Ivan Tyhyi worked towards easel painting, having become the author of numerous landscapes, portraits and thematic paintings, among which ? "Happy father" (1951), "Admission to the pioneers" (1953), "Motherhood" (1957), "Storks" (1960), "Native Land" (1963), "On Taras' Hill" (1963), "Eternal fire "(1964-1965)," Handful of earth "(1967)," In the Smolnyi "(1970)," Hello Slavutych "(1975).
In addition to the beloved Institute, Ivan Antonovych has worked for a long time in the art school as an illustrator in the magazine "Barvinok " having made out the book covers, and he was a talented coach who trained a whole "galaxy" of the famous painters.
He hurried to live, having lived in the end relatively not much. The artist died on April 27, 1982 in Kyiv and was buried in the Baikove cemetery. But there are the life-affirming paintings left. Today they are the part of museum collections and numerous private collections in Ukraine and other European countries. And it’s a priceless gift that the artist left to future generations.
