On November 8, 2017, in the Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum, opened the regional exhibition "The Country of Masters" works of decorative and applied art to the All-Ukrainian day of cultural workers and masters of folk art. The exhibition was started as an annual creative report of the masters of folk art of Kirovograd region starting since 2016.

The Union of Masters of Folk Art of Ukraine was established in 1990 in order to preserve the decorative heritage and support the further development of folk art. From 1990 to 2004, he was headed by the People's Artist of Ukraine Volodymyr Mikhailovich Pryadko. Since 2004, the head of the National Union of Masters of Folk Art of Ukraine has become the Honored Art Worker of Ukraine, the master of artistic wood processing, the researcher of folk art, lexicography, and the head of the State Art and Expert Council for Folk Art Crafts Shevchenko Yevgeny Igorevich.
The Union takes care of the development of all types and genres of folk art of Ukraine. Among the activities of this organization is the work to identify masters of traditional types of crafts and their involvement in cooperation, the organization of exhibitions and holidays of folk art, perpetuating the memory of outstanding folk artists, art critics, promoting the professional and moral formation of creative youth. Today, 20 regional branches of the National Union of Masters of Folk Art of Ukraine have been created.
On June 18, 2010, the first regional exhibition of works of arts and crafts was opened in the regional art museum within the framework of measures to create a cell of the National Union of Masters of Folk Art of Ukraine in the Kirovograd region in order to facilitate the creation of the Kirovograd regional branch of the National Union of Masters of Folk Art of Ukraine. In May 2013, a second reporting exhibition was held, in August 2015, the third, and in November 2016, the fourth.
Prenko Oleksandra Ivanivna is an honorary coordinator and inspirer of the Kirovograd branch of the National Union of Masters of Folk Art of Ukraine. She is an honored master of folk art of Ukraine, an excellent educator of Ukraine, a pedagogue-psychologist, participant in many exhibitions of decorative and applied art not only in Ukraine but also abroad.
The regional office has 93 masters of different types and genres of contemporary folk art from all over the region.
Since 2010, folk craftsmen are constantly participating in the All-Ukrainian contest "The Best composition of the Year" (Kiev), numerous exhibitions, competitions, festivals, fairs, and other cultural and artistic events of the All-Ukrainian, regional and local levels. Their works are presented in the catalog "Folk Art" “The best composition of the year ".
Currently, members of the National Union of Masters of Folk Art of Ukraine in the Kirovograd region are 27 people: Oleksandra Prenko, Olga Kolomiets, Valentina Dobrovolskaya, Victoria Pukhinda, Tatiana Storozhenko, Larysa Garbuzenko, Larisa Kulinich, Yulia Malezhik, Olena Yuschyshena, Olga Kravchenko, Viktoria Reznichenko, Alla Rudenko, Oksana Garbuzenko, Iryna Nikolova, Svetlana Pasashkova, Victor Luganschuk, Oleksandra Derenovskaya (Kropivnitsky), Grigory Pilipishin

I would like to remind you that there in NSMNМU were such outstanding artists as Zhanna Mahkovskaya (1946-2014) - an embroiderer with gold embroidery, which was included in the book "The Best Women of Ukraine" (2000), awarded with the Order of Princess Olga III degree and the Order of St. Volodymyr, as well as Andriy Lipatov (1960-2010) - a unique painter, master of "naive art".
The exhibition, which opened in the art museum, presents the best achievements of masters of folk art of the older generation, creative youth, as well as applicants for joining the National Union of Masters of Folk Art of Ukraine.
The exhibition houses the works of 45 folk masters of Kirovograd region, whose artistic level impresses with professional perfection, the preservation of the traditions of the Ukrainian people and just a delightful eye. The craftsmen's works are made in a variety of arts and crafts:

We are proud of the creativity of our masters and hope that their talent, creative searches, purposefulness will contribute to the spiritual growth of the people in every possible way, become an inexhaustible source of enrichment of the cultural traditions of Kirovograd region.
