On November 9, 2017, an exhibition was opened at the Kirovograd Regional Art Museum on the Day of Ukrainian Writing and the language "If you knew how much the word is important ..."

The Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language is a state holiday celebrated every year in Ukraine on November 9, in accordance to the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 1241/97 of November 9, 1997 "On the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language" in support of the initiative of public organizations and taking into account the important role of Ukrainian language in the consolidation of Ukrainian society ".

According to the Orthodoxcalendar on this day, the memory of the Rev. Nestor-Chronicler - writer-agiographer, founder of ancient historiography, notionalist, monk of the Kyiv-Pechersk Monastery is also honored. Researchers believe that it is from Nestor-Chronicler that a written Ukrainian language begins. Subsequently, the Ukrainian writing of the whole cohort of famous Ukrainian writers and poets, who wrote in a delightful, native, nightingale Ukrainian language, colloquial, folk and literary - T. Shecenko, I. Kotlyarevsky, I. Franko, P. Mirnyi (Rudchenko), M Vovchok (Vilinska), M. Kotsyubinsky, L. Ukrainka and many others.

The exposition consists of an interesting combination of portraits and sculptures to create them  artists were inspired by insults and works of Ukrainian writers. Here is the work of I.V. Smycheka "The Portrait of Taras Shevchenko" (2004), N. T Popovich's linogravure "The Legend of Taras" (1964) and V.I.Casian "Taras Shevchenko" (1960), "Portrait T. G. Shevchenko "(1860) - a print imprint, a printing house by F. Brockhaus. Next to the carpet, E. M. Rudenko, "My Dumas, Dumas ..." looks at the majestic figure of Taras Shevchenko against the background of landscapes of the picturesque Ukrainian village with a mysterious expression of the eyes surrounded by heroes of his famous works.

The sculptures are presented by A.V Niemenko's works "Lesja Ukrainka" - the author gives a bright image of Larysa Petrovna Kosach (Kvitka), somewhat upset, with a bowed head and thoughtful look, a plaster bust of Matsievsky's "Taras Shevchenko" (late twentieth century) .) and the bosom of the unknown author «Ivan Franko» (the middle of the twentieth century).

The work of the unknown artist "Portrait of Taras Shevchenko" and the bust "Girl with the Book" are harmoniously complemented by the exposition, which was handed over to the fund collection by an old friend of the museum - historian, ethnographer and philanthropist Victor Vasilyevich Petrakov (1947-2016).
