The exhibition "Belarussians with Ukraine in the heart"

On July 23, 2016 in Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum the exhibition "Belarussians with Ukraine in the heart" opened.

This is a joint exhibition project of Ukrainian and Belarusian artists devoted to the events in Eastern Ukraine and remembrance of perished volunteers of task force "Belarus" Vitalii Tilizhenko - "Keks" and Ales Cherkashyn - "Taras" who gave their lives for independence of Ukraine in summer 2015.

Ukrainian Vitalii Tilizhenko died on August 10, 2015, eliminating the armored breakthrough of Russian mercenaries near Starohnativka. He was born and grew up in Zaporizhzhia, studied and worked in Kyiv in the field of IT-technologies. He took part in two Maidans. When the war started he found the charitable organization "International Fund "Voloshka" with volunteer assistance to ATO soldiers and later he volunteered to front. Vitalii Tilizhenko was buried near his relatives at the cemetery Matviievske in Zaporizhzhia. Today, one of the city streets is named after him.

Belarussian Ales Cherkashyn was born on September 27, 1982. From 2008 to 2015 he studied in Ukraine, in the Christian Institute. Since 2000, Ales was a member of the Belarusian national movement - from 2010 he joined the party Belarusian Christian Democrats, and later led it. Since 2015 Ales was in the Donbass in Ukrainian volunteer corps "Right Sector" as a physician and chaplain. August 10 was a member of the same battle as Vitalii. Ales was seriously wounded and taken to the Zaporizhzhia Regional Hospital. Unfortunately, he died of severe wounds. He was buried at home - in Brest.

In November 2015 with the support of the charitable organization "Internatonal Charitable Organization "Voloshka" (Director Anzhela Dushaieva) in the area ATO there was an international plein air. On the Belarusian side in the plein air there were  five artists - members of the Belarusian Union of Artists, Henadz Drazdov, Ales Susha, Ales Tsyrkunov, Ales Pushkin, a young artist and musician Andrus Takidanh, on the Ukrainian side  - Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Ukrainian artist from Donetsk Taras Nosar.

Artists worked for five days around Donetsk airport, Pisky, Volnovakha and Novohradivka. As a result, there were more than 40 paintings written - portraits, landscapes, scene paintings, the creation of which was inspired by tactical group "Belarus" in the Ukrainian volunteer corps.

The painting were first exhibited in Belarus - namely, the Embassy of Ukraine in Belarus (February 2016), then the exhibition was in tour around Ukraine. Its opening was held at the National Museum of History of Ukraine (March 2016), the Volunteer Center in Chaplynka in Zaporizhzhia regional museum (Vitalii Tilizhenko was born in Zaporizhzhia) and in a shopping center in Dnipro.

The exhibition "Belarussians with Ukraine in the heart" in Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum exhibited more than 40 paintings.

Between battles", " Ukraine is at the stage", "Lullaby", "Landscape. Ruins", "My thoughts ... thoughts", "Ukraine will answer ", " Music of Pisky".

"These paintings are a piece of my life. This is blood and suffering. In Pisky, in the ruins of the palace of culture, I the first things I found were baby shoes and embroidered shirt then I pulled out bandura of the ruins. It was crippled by war with jagged strings"- Taras Nosar recalled.

Traveling around Belarus and Ukraine the exhibition was refilled with Vitalii Tilizhenko portrait by artist from Zaporozhzhia Ravich Erika, who painted the portrait on the last three days before the opening of the exhibition in Zaporizhzhia.

Also the exhibition includes works by Marachkin Aleksei "Holy Mother of God of Heavenly Hundred", Anishchenko Vladimir "Pisky Village. Donbass" and "Portrait of Ales Cherkashyn".

The exhibition is replenished with the items of military life that the artists brought from the East of Ukraine: shot helmet, harness of  "Taras",  found in Pisky shells and tailings from mines, torn fragments of the books from the destroyed library", "wounded" bandura with torn strings (bandura has always been an instrument of free singers, who sang about famous heroes of Ukrainian lands, their great exploits, lamented their heroic death).

The invited to the exhibition reviewed the film "Belarusians with Ukraine in the heart" by the director and operator Antos Tsialezhniktsau.

During the presentation of the exhibition the speech was given by Anzhela Ivanivna Dushaieva, director of the charity organization "International Fund "Voloshka", participant of plein air "Belarusians with Ukraine in the heart" member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Ukrainian artist from Donetsk Taras Vsevolodovych Nosar, City Council Secretary Serhii Viktorovych Boiko, journalist, author of the exhibition in the regional center Svitlana Vasylivna Orel, member of public organization "Kirovohrad Region Mothers Hearts" Olena Viktorivna Shpilivenko and other event participants.

The exhibition was opened with the assistance of the charitable organization "International Fund "Voloshka" (Director Anzhela Ivanivna Dushayeva).

The Exhibition transportation was carried out with the support of City Council deputy Dmytro Semenovych Terzov.

This exhibition is another reminder to us all, that the genuine Ukrainian-Russian war continues in Eastern Ukraine and peaceful sky over our Ukraine, under which peacefully sleep children protected by the cost of many lives of patriots not only from Ukraine…
