For the second consecutive year, Ukraine in conditions of Russian aggression marks the Day of Memory and reconciliation. Turning to the European tradition, our country with all civilized world commemorates all victims of the Second World War. The symbol of this day was the red poppy flower that symbolizes the memory of all victims of armed conflict. For us, the joy of victory and the pain of heavy losses is not an empty word – it’s hard to find in Ukraine a family whose members were not involved in the fighting of the Second World War. They would not have defended Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, not fought in partisan detachments across the European continent. It is difficult to overestimate the contribution of the Ukrainian people in the victory over Nazism in Europe. Although now there are the cries heard, saying, that Ukrainians didn’t fight, so Ukraine has no right to celebrate Victory Day.

Inadequacy of these expressions proves the undeniable fact that in every town or village of our country there are graves and monuments to the heroes of World War II, and the number of victims of the Ukrainian people charged in the millions. So far, no researcher or historian has called at least the approximate number of dead Ukrainian. And perhaps today it is not possible. Pain, grief and joy in these days in Ukraine are the next step, but we appreciate living winners and remember the victims.

The components of the virtual exhibition "Path to the Victory" were paintings and graphic works of N. I. Lopukhova (1928 - 2014) "1941", P. K. Stolyarenko (1925) "Mitridat Mountain" 1963, Z. S. Tolkachov "Liberators came" 1962, L. I. Feigin (1925 - 2005) "People's Avengers" 1965, B. M. Pianida (1920 - 1993) "Due to the enemy", M. I.
