May 9, 2016, the year Kirovograd Regional Art Museum celebrates its 15th anniversary, which is outstanding and very important positive development for the entire artistic community, especially - in difficult conditions today. And it's a good excuse to bring some up, think about the new art projects and recall the history of the regional art museum, which has long received unofficial status of artistic gems of our steppe.
The idea of creation in art museum dates back to 1870, in the year, and similar initiatives - was not easy, and only in 1921 the art gallery was created, which in 1924 joined the Natural History Museum and renamed in 1938 in Local History. The collection of that time consisted of 150 exhibits, 26 of which are the original, and was a nationalized and collected in pre-revolutionary years painting and donated monuments of art fans. And during the Nazi occupation, the collection was looted, and the gallery, in fact, ceased to exist for more than 20 years. The renaissance of the school was only in 1965 as the Department of Regional Museum in the premises of Holy Transfiguration Church, saving perhaps the last of complete destruction.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union the status of religion changed and the church was returned to believers, but pictures have a new home on Karl Marx Street, 60 (now – Velyka Perspektyvna). This house, located in the central part of the city, was built in the late 19 - early 20 century. The original interior was the one example of the original Modern period, which had high artistic value and was one of the examples of a new type of commercial buildings in the early 20 century, which was remained in the city. That it became, by the representatives of the President of Ukraine in Kirovograd region from 4 January 1993, the birth place of Kirovograd regional art museum. From 1992 to 2001 as a result of restoration, the original appearance of the museum building was almost completely restored.
The history of the museum embodies people who strived to its formation and development. It is worth to mention our glorious compatriot Olena Orestivna Nozemtseva who from 1953 to 1967 headed the regional museum, having put on her fragile shoulders numerous problems of economic, organizational and scientific and methodical character. Thanks to her, in December 1965 the art gallery was opened, which became a branch of the regional museum and there was a significant replenishment of the museum works transferred from the State Hermitage Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, Kyiv Museum of Russian and Ukrainian art, Directorate of art exhibitions etc.
The first director of the Art Museum, Mykola Ivanovych Fedotov had to decide by regulatory authorities the issues with the room, financial and organizational objectives, establish transportation museum exhibits. Mykola Fedotov and that time staff of the museum laid the foundation for the future opening of the regional art museum for visitors, having made a huge contribution to the preparation and organization of a large number of art exhibitions which became bright events in the artistic life of the city and the region.
We should also mention about caring enthusiasts – Valeriy Mykolayovych Davydov, Valentyna Hryhorivna Nozhenko, Yuriy Borysovych Honcharenko, Oleg Hryhorovych Yurchenko and many others, who worthily continued the work of their predecessors, carefully multiplying the Security Market collection of the museum and expanding the scope of its activities.
Today the museum institution is headed by Tetiana Tkachenko, under the supervision of whose there is a continuous search for new creative ideas and ways of their implementation. It's safe to say that now the Kirovograd Regional Art Museum is a cultural center and a hallmark of our region.
It is a symbolic fact that the opening of the Kirovograd regional art museum was held on the Day of Victory over Nazism in Europe, May 9, 2001, that was another gift of this holy day for all true lovers of art. It is therefore natural, that the part of an exhibition, dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the opening of the museum was the work which reflected the victorious May 1945 and those workers of the glorious war who gave us all the right to life: "The Portrait of the artist M. G. Bondarenko" (1974) M. V. Nadezhdin, "The Winner" (1988) of O. S. Lohvynyuk, "The Portrait of Josan M. I. – a cavalier of the Order of Glory" (1983) L. G. Kyryanova, "The Victory Day" (1975) of V. A. Fedorov.
A number of works devoted to the exhibition directly to a hero of the day – to the Regional Art Museum and people involved in its creation, which is a perfect example of the tribute and boundless gratitude: "The Regional Museum of Art" (2006) and "Preobrazhenskyi Cathedral" (2002) of L. I. Bondar, "The Art Museum" of N. Bohoril, "Karl Marx Street of the1960" and "The Portrait of Olena Orestivna Nozemtseva" of V. O. Fedorov.
The traditional part of the May exhibition became the wonderful still life, creating a unique atmosphere of celebration and symbolize double happiness, harmony and hope for the best: "Blueberry pie" (1948), "Red Lily" (1952) of O.O. Osmiorkin, "Flowers" (1963) of O. F. Foinytskyi, "Sakura blossom" of M. T. Dobrolezh, "Still Life" (1983) of V. A. Fedorov, "Spring Bouquet" (2010) of M. V. Nadezhdin, "April Gardens" of A. V. Nimenko, "Wildflowers" (2010) of M. I. Tsern, "Spring motif" (1993) of M. G. Bondarenko, "Still Life with Strawberries" (2008) and "Still Life Clock" (2008) of S. I. Pysmennyi, "Irises" (2008) of A. G. Shapovalov, "Roses" (1993) of A. O. Danilov, "The Wildflowers" (2006) of Y. B. Goncharenko, "The Street of Egorova in Spring "(2007) of A. M. Kadyhrob.
So we hope that this May Opening Day will impress any true fan of the highly visual arts, which has long been waiting for a meeting with an artistic gem of Kirovograd.
