The first solemn event in the department of Kirovograd Regional Art Museum - Art Gallery of Petro Ossowski "World and Fatherland" for long-term of repair and restoration work was the opening of the photo exhibition "Women and conflict in Ukraine," which was presented on Friday, April 8.
Photo exhibition is created by the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine and the Ukrainian Women's Fund in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Policy and was firstly presented in Kyiv in December 2014. Since the exhibition has been traveling by Ukraine : demonstrations took place in Kharkiv, Vinnytsya, Severodonetsk, Zhitomir, Mariupol, Bila Tserkva. The authors of the photos - Ukrainian photoartist that catched on camera special moments of lifes of different women. There are female soldier, female doctors, female volunteers, female volunteers among them. All ages, from all over the country. But the life of each of them has it's own story, connected with the war.
Activist of "Turbota" public organization Olha Hridnieva during the opening announced that demonstrated photoes emphasized once again how important women in society. However, it has been said that war is a male thing. However, such projects are intended to refute these stereotypes, because women do not perform supporting roles in the struggle for the freedom of their nation.
The directress of the Kirovograd Regional Art Museum Tetiana Tkachenko said that this exhibition is not the first project in cooperation of museum and "Turbota" public organization.
The theme of women and their role during the military events in the country, which is reflected in the submitted photographs, presented in the museum for the first time. Indeed, the combination of war and women reverses all senses, makes change usual perception of reality. We hope that the photographs would be memorized in the hearts of everyone who will visit the exhibition.
The opening ceremony was attended by Olga Hridnyeva, activist of "Turbota" public organization, directress of the Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum Tetiana Tkachenko and chairman of the Association of Public Initiatives Tetiana Dmytrenko.
