Fedir Lahno’s virtual exhibition to his 60th anniversary

On 24 February 2016 Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum presents a virtual exhibition of Fedir Lahno to the 60th anniversary of one of the most relevant and interesting artists of contemporary Ukrainian art and one of the best friends of the museum.

Fedir Lahno was born on the 24th of February, 1956 in Nova Osota, the village in Oleksandrivka Raion. In 1983 he graduated from Design department of Kharkiv State Art and Industrial Institute (now Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts). Since 1983 he participates in many national and international exhibitions, the most significant of them are:

- solo exhibition of paintings in Kirovohrad Regional Universal Scientific Library named after D. Chyzhevskyi (1990);

- International Biennial Lviv- 91 "Renaissance" (1991, he was the winner of the Biennale);

- solo exhibition of graphic art in Kirovohrad Regional Universal Scientific Library named after D. Chyzhevskyi (1993);

- solo exhibition "Meeting with friends" in Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum (2005);

- solo exhibition of graphic works in Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum (2011).

Lagno’s creative activity covers a trip to Italy with a group of five Ukrainian artists, creative practice in Monhidoro, Bologna, Venice (1994), working with the creative group "Factory Design" (Moscow), development of concept projects, creative products, and product brands from 1998.

Lahno’s works are in the collections of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, Lviv Art Gallery, Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum and private collections in the USA, Canada, Japan, UK, Italy, Russia and Ukraine.

The artist lives and works in the village Oleksandrivka.

Fedir is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, the winner of Oleksander Osmerkin regional prize in Fine Arts and Art Studies in the nomination "New direction”, a regular participant of the Easter auction, that has been held in the premises of Kirovohrad regional art museum several years in a row.

“The culture of humanism and its projection in the light of biblical parables gives an impetus to the search of those creative maxims that I put in judgment of the audience and try to cause reflection of souls, minds and hearts. Following the postulate: trust someone who seeks the truth, and do not trust the one who has found it, I go out with my creative version for a dialogue with the audience and give it the opportunity to finish my thought” (F. Lahno).
