Olexander Semenovych Lohvynyuk belongs to the cohort of outstanding creative stars who was born in another region of Ukraine, presented his talent and creativity in our steppe, adequately having presented it not only across the country but also abroad.

This gives us the right to call these unique artists ours of Elysavetgrad, Kirovograd, Kropyvnytskyi and creates an additional reason to be proud.

Olexander Lohvynyuk was born on November 19, 1936 in the city of Mykolaiv. The decision to become an artist determined his future life, which were important stages ending in 1965 Simferopol Art School named M. Samokysh and in 1971 - Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of Ilya Repin, where he studied in the studio of Professor OVSiy Moysenko – a student of our famous artist and countryman Olexander Osmiorkin.

It’s not a surprise that the diploma work of Olexandr Lohvynyuk was the painting "Volodymyr Lenin in the VHUTEMAS students." In times of a total adoration Volodymyr Ulyanov is a completely natural phenomenon. You should always make allowances for the era in which emerging artist - and as a person and as an artist, with the understanding that relate to the subject of his works. The very direction of socialist realism demanded from the artist to paint that would glorify "Soviet power" and its leaders. Even the official Soviet press in 1984 noted that "the artist Olexander Lohvynyuk introduced new strokes in Ukrainian representational Leniniana". But, again, that time was quite normal. And, aside from the pictures shown on these characters, most works from professional point of view on the complaint does not deserve. Moreover, they are kind, even more - the distorting mirror of that epoch, which is very interesting from a historical perspective and also instructive because of our present.

By the way, diploma of Lohvynyuk received "excellent" mark and the author went in the direction of the work in Kirovograd, linking our city all his subsequent life and poured in a wonderful creative fraternity of Kirovograd artists. We can assume that our city is very lucky, because the bright constellation of fellow artists ignited a new and very bright star, whose talent and creative individuality have become a notable event in the cultural life of the region and that is very important - were appreciated. To implement talent we must constantly improve ourselves through hard work. And Olexander Semenovych was a such laborer. He often worked in teams of Republican house of creativity "Sedniv", actively participated in numerous regional, national and international exhibitions. Besides the thematic range of his works had a wide spectrum, ranging from historical painting to a chamber still life. Finally, this everything had brought Lohvynyuk a well-deserved praise and sincere admiration for his works from the fans of fine art. The indication of public and official recognition of the master can be considered, including the fact of his membership in the Union of Artists of Ukraine.

"We should be more often among people, - said Olexander Semenovych. – It’s not enough to write study, you should be filled with your thoughts, with concerns of a farmer. The painting won’t exist without it, because I must to tell “something» to people by my canvas. Therefore Lohvynyuk often left the village area and to enterprises, institutions, etc., where with the great love he created portraits of ordinary people, thus were born such films as "Farmers of Kirovograd", "Our district", "Teacher" and others. Contemporary genre of the artist simply and succinctly reflected the certain moments in the life of the "bottom" of Soviet society, the characteristic features of psychology and way of life. This once again makes us remember-known axiom - "All brilliant is easy."

A special place in the artist took the theme of the Second World War by Olexander Semenovych more remembered by the older generation of pain, having been a child. Lohvynyuk became the chronicler of the war, in his works reflected the pain and heroism of the Soviet people. His paintings "Bread to partisans" (1975), "Komsomolsk underground of Krasnohirky" (1984), «May 1945" (1085), "Winner" (1988) repeatedly been part of exhibitions of regional art museum Tribulation and the Day of Victory Day, conveying the tragedy of war, the sacrifice of those who approached victory and festive atmosphere victorious May.

Works of Olexander Lohvynyuk often became a part of the exposition block located in the regional art museum "Picturesque corners of our city", because artist,  (it’s very noticeable), truly loved the city in which he lived and worked. His landscapes, including many landscapes of Kirovograd - warm, sunny, filled with positive energy of the master. There is some interesting detail - in some works of the artist we see our city before the rain, in the rain, after the rain. It is believed that addresses the theme of rain speaks of a special romanticism and purity of the soul of the artist, and knowing Olexander Semenovych, it is difficult to disagree with this.

Symbolic is the fact, that views of Kirovograd became the latest works of the artist that he was preparing for an exhibition dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the city. Numerous sketches that left were left by this artist, also point out that in the last years of his life, Olexander Lohvynyuk turned in his work to the history of the Ukrainian people. By the way, even unfinished works by Alexander Semenovych are of great interest, including - for professional artists, because they provide an opportunity to get closer to the secret skill of the artist, to understand how he created his paintings.

The artist passed away on March 2, 2004, staying until the last minute of his life true to his creative credo: "We come into this world to do something and realize ourselves in work."

After his death his wife Alla Evgenivna Lohvynyuk donated to the regional art museum among 46 works of her husband, which today is an invaluable part of his collection of stock and systematically are presented in the exhibition as a tribute to the great master.

Some of these works the visitor of the museum will see during viewing exhibition "Light of talent and soul," painting which is a remarkable pictorial ode to our Steppe Hellas and directly to "Bridge over gray Ingul" - "green noise" (1968), "The beginning of October" (1985) "Steep coast" (1986), "The coast of the Southern Bug" (1991), "An Evening in the village of thorns" (2001), "Independence of Bohdan Khmelnytsky" (2000), "Cathedral" (2002) and "Kovalivka church" ( 2003).
