September 29, 2015 in Kirovograd Regional Art Museum opened the personal exhibition of Honoured Master of Folk Art, a member of the National Union of Folk Art of Ukraine Larysa Zorina "Embroidered tune of Ukrainian soul" dedicated to the anniversary of master.

The exhibition includes painted and embroidered picture of a bright, distinctive and original master of our steppe region Larysa Zorina.

Larysa Zorina was born September 25, 1960 in the village Inhulets, Ustynivka area, Kirovograd region in a family of teachers. Her father - Georgiy Bosyi - a teacher of music and painting, her mother - Evdokia Bosa - a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature. In 1975 she graduated from music school in Ustynivska. In the same year the family moved to the village Novgorodka. In 1977 she graduated from Novgorodka school № 1, and in 1980 - Alexandria school culture. Since 1996 master constantly participated of amateur Novgorodka district House of Culture. In 2003 she graduated from the Department of Education of Kirovograd State Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Vynnychenko. For many years she worked as a music director of Novgorodka preschool №1 «Dawn».

Larysa Zorina grew up in the family where the creativity was not on the last place. Her grandfather was considered the artist and musician in the village, her father drew,  and brother, mother and grandmother embroidered. Watching their work Larysa quietly learned to see beauty. But seriously she took up fine art only at thirty years old after the tragic death of her husband.

She began with children's songs: there were pictures of the songs that are sung by children in kindergarten. Thus was born the series of illustrations to Ukrainian songs. Over time, the themes of works expanded, there appeared several thematic series "Ukrainian festivals" and "Wedding ritual." The result of the old hobby of embroidery was the capture scenes from people's lives, but now embroidered on fabric with the help of exquisite art stitch.

In her works Larysa Zorina also depicts the Ukrainian nature. Here on her pictures bunches of viburnum full of juice, willows bent over the pool and beautiful gardens are full of huge red apples and pears. All this love to the Ukrainian village master learned in childhood.

To create a picture Larysa Zorina required from several months to several years, depending on the size and free time. First, she transferred her picture on fabric. Next with the help of thread she fulfils a large plane - sky, grass, houses, clothes, and then proceeds to details: fringing costumes, draws faces and plants. The stitch is so small that on each flower you can see every petal. The work is completed when all the contours outlined with black thread.

The first personal exhibition of master was held in 1989 in Kirovograd cinema "Komsomolets". There were also exhibitions in the Regional Universal Scientific Library named after D. Chizhevskiy and in tract of Ternyk in Novgorodka (1997), in the main department of Kirovograd Prominvestbank (1998), in Kirovograd Regional Museum (2001), in the Kirovograd Regional Art Museum (2005) (2010) and others.

Larysa Zorina is a member of many regional and national exhibitions. Her works are in private collections in Ukraine, Canada, USA and others.

Recently, the works of L. Zorina is full of Old pagan symbolism and ritual culture.

Larysa Zorina works differ with a strong personal handwriting, which is a unique combination of experience of folk art and her own artistic individuality. In her writings there are notable connection with folklore, folk rituals and reflected colourful and vivid pictures of people's lives.

The topic of Ukrainian faire has always been an interesting topic for Larysa. The works on this topic are gathered in one song "Sorochinskiy Fair" (2011), the main purpose of which was to show the majesty, beauty, talent and diversity of crafts and diligence of our ancestors. These works depict different kinds of Ukrainian art - pottery, weaving, carpet weaving, weaving from twigs, carvings, paintings and embroidery.

With great interest the artist created paintings to the works of Shevchenko: "I was thirteen ...", "Milky Way ..." "Cossacks" and "Bandura player with his guide."

Mostly Larysa likes to illustrate the humorous Ukrainian songs on her paintings. They convey the humour, joy and true Ukrainian soul. The artist has a number of paintings on the theme of Ukrainian folk song "The well plays in the field...", "Where the Yatran curls...", Yavor and Yavoryna", "Mother’s well... ", "The Magic violin".
