March 25, 2015 in Kirovograd Regional Art Museum opened a personal anniversary exhibition of works named "Moments of Life" by the member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, World War II veteran, a veteran labor Boris Yegorov in dedication of the 90 - th birthday of the artist.
Boris Yegorov was born March 25, 1925 in Znamenka, Kirovograd region in a family of railway workers.
Since 1932, he studied in Znamenka general school №3, in high school he was a member of the editorial board of school newspapers.
During World War II, at age 16 he joined the ranks of the national resistance, was a scout and a signalman of a partisan unit named after K.Voroshylov in the Black Forest. In the first days after the liberation of Znamenka, B.Yehorov restored locomotive depot and station buildings. Soon, Boris Yegorov had taken place in the train cab, which overcame labor steps from fireman to engineer, drove trains to the very front line and then in 1944 he received the rank of sergeant.
After the war he entered the Odessa Art School named after M. Hrekov. His teachers were prof. L. Muchnyk, M. Shelyuto, M. Todorov. The thesis "Threshing" which Egorov defended in 1950 on excellent mark is stored in the Museum Art School. While studying in college B. Yehorov defined genres of painting, which betrayed during a creative way, these are lyrical landscapes, portraits, genre paintings on agricultural issues.
In 1950, according to the distribution he was sent to the city of metallurgists and energy - Zaporizhya, where he successfully combined creative (Member of the Society of Artists since 1948) and educational activities (supervised Visual Studio Working Youth Culture House “DEZ” from 1952 to 1959).
Since 1951, Boris Yegorov participates in many regional, national and international exhibitions.
In 1972 he became a member of the Union of Artists and the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR.
Boris Yegorov regularly participated plaines, during the years of creative activity in the Baltic States he visited the Far East, the shores of the Azov, Black, Baltic Sea, the Caucasus Mountains.
In the years 2009 -2011 he became a member of charity auctions.
In 2010, Boris was nominated regional prize in Fine Arts and Art University named after O. Osmyorkin (Kirovograd).
Almost every year B. Yehorov comes to his small home town in Znamenka.
From young ages in Znamenka, B. Yehorov made friends with the descendants of Taras Shevchenko - great-niece of the Great Kobzar Kateryna Krasytska and her daughter Antonina Krasytska, local historian and writer Vyacheslav Shkoda and others.
Boris opened his first personal exhibition in Znamenka House – Museum named after T. Shevchenko in 1973.
During the years 1973-2011 as a gift to Znamenka city museum was transferred fourteen works by the artist.
Boris belongs to the cohort of Zaporozhya famous artists of the older generation who have sustained originality of regional school of painting, his works tirelessly represent the best traditions of national realistic art. For six decades the work of Boris occupies a prominent place in the artistic life of Zaporizhya.
His works are in collections of Kirovograd Regional Art Museum, Zaporizhya Regional Art Museum, National Museum of History of Zaporizhya police, Museum of Odessa Art School named after M. Hrekov in Znamenka City Museum and in private collections in Ukraine, Russia, Poland and others.
During the creative activity Boris Yegorov had created above two thousand works. Five years ago, in June 10, 2011 in Kirovograd Regional Art Museum was opened a personal exhibition of works by Boris Yegorov, in which were exhibited more than fifty works written between 1949 - 2010 years from the private collection of the artist and the Znamenka city museum. At the opening of the exhibition the artist gave to the funds of Kirovograd Regional Art Museum fifteen of his works: "Portrait of My Mother" (1949). "Self-Portrait" (1964). "The portrait of sculptor P. Kolomna "(1955)." Gathering the radish "(1960.)" Portrait. Disillusioned "(1961)." Winter crops "(1966)." The path to Hoverla "(1970)." Kolkhoz farms "(1972)." Blue napkin "(1955)." Partisan brigade commander "(1973. ), "Birch grove" (1975). "On the outskirts of Sedniv" (1975). "House of Artists" (1971). "Milkmaid’s portrait" (1980.), "The Road to the Temple" (2010.).
And exactly to this anniversary exhibition named "Moments of Life" were exhibited the works from the collection of the stock of Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum. These are the portraits - "Portrait of My Mother" (1949) and "Self-Portrait" (1964.), still life - "Red Cranberry" (2010.) and landscapes - "Winter crops" (1966), "Birch Grove" (1975), "On the outskirts of Sedniv "(1975), "The path to Hoverla"(1970), "House of Artists"(1971), "Silence"(1990), canvas - reflections and canvas - memories - "The Road to the Temple ..."( 2010).
There are 90 years behind, but Boris is full of optimism: "While the eyes can see, and the hands can hold the brush – I will do!"
Nowadays the artist lives in Zaporizhya. His family recently suffered from the great grief – artist’s son suddenly died. The house of Egorov family was robbed. Boris and his wife Elena are ill, bedridden and in need of financial assistance.
