The exhibition "Architectural images" was opened on April 18, 2014 in Kirovograd regional art Museum and was devoted to the International Day For Monuments and Sites.

The International Day for Monuments and Sites was proposed by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) on 18 April 1982 and approved by the General Assembly of UNESCO in 1983. The aim is to promote awareness about the diversity of cultural heritage of humanity, their vulnerability and the efforts required for their protection and conservation.

It’s nice to see that the developed countries of the world cherish their historical and architectural monuments, in particular preservation of historic landscapes and local landscapes. Because every country has its own unique history and culture that change its life, influencing the development of society. An in-depth interest and concern about attractions and historical places are characteristic signs of our time. An increasing number of people begin to understand that that people who do not appreciate its past are not worthy of the future. It is difficult to overestimate the cognitive significance of monuments of history and culture - architectural structures created by ancient masters, thousands of monuments, obelisks, memorial signs that remind us of times past. All these monuments are of great historical and cultural value, and therefore are protected by the state and Constitution which guarantee their integrity.

Culture is a genetic memory of the people. This is a spiritual link between generations, without which a nation has no future. The preservation and enrichment of cultural heritage of the world is a vital goal to achieve which is possible only by combining the efforts of the state, the public and patrons. Without proper and attentive care the priceless monuments and attractions can be irretrievably lost. Save them for posterity and future - that's a noble mission and a direct duty of the present generation.

The exhibition presents paintings and graphic works from the collection of the Museum, which are magnificent architectural landscapes of Ukraine and other countries of the world. The authors of the vast amount of these works are Kirovohrad artists whose fame has spread far beyond the region.

The exhibition presents the works of such prominent masters as Petro Ossovskii "Pskov Kremlin spring" (1987) and "the Holy mountain" (1987), Peter Pokarzhevskii "Cathedral Kizhi" (1962), AnatoliyGorbenko "Holy places of Florence" (1999), SergiyDryga "Krak?w" (2005), "Cold morning" (1999), "the White city" (1999), "Constellation of roofs" (2001), "Witch night" (2005), Leonid Bondar "Regional art Museum” (2002), SergiyShishko "Kiev. Bohdan Khmelnitsky Square" (1954), LubovKirjanova "Gogol Street. The evening after the rain" (2002), LeontiiOrlik "Holy places ofRazumivka" (2005), Ivan Pilipenko "Far caves" (2006), VasilyChehodar "Kyiv today" (1971), AllaPreobrazhenska "Old ml?n. BilaTserkva city" (2010), Alexander Logviniuk "Cathedral", SergiyRavskii "Kiev PecherskLavra", "Vydubychi monastery", "St. Andrew's Church", Irina Kukharenko "Autumn in Rozumivka" etc.

The works which are presented at the exposition tell us about the fact that we have much to be proud of because a world cultural heritage is rich in numerous monuments of culture and history. And thanks to the tireless work of the artists our descendants have the opportunity to touch the past.

Therefore, the aim of this exhibition is to remind mankind about the need to preserve cultural heritage, created by the efforts of many Nations.
