On 14 May 2014 «Trip over the european countries» art works exhibition for celebrating the European Day was opened in Kirovohrad regional art museum.
The history of this holyday trace it's roots since 9 may 1950, when Robert Schumann – French Minister of Foreign Affair, proposed to create united Europe for building peaceful interrelation at the continent. He appealed France, Germany and other eurpopean countries, which barely have recovered from Second World War, to unite their coal and steel fields of industry (fundamentals of military power build-up) and give it under control of new supranational structure, in such a way preventing accumulation of military power against each other. It was important step to the strenthening of peace in Europe and first step to creation of European Union, which today counts 28 countries and 5 countries candidates.
At the Milan summit in 1985 the leaders of EU decided to eternalize proclaiming of Schumann Declaration and decided to celebrate annualy the European Day on 9 May. Together with 9 May the symbols of European Union became the flag with twenty gold stars dark blue background (the number of stars is not connected with member countries), anthem «Ode to Joy» (the melody was taken Symphony nuber nine of Ludvig van Beethoven) and motto - «Unity in diversity».
In Ukraine the European day is celebrated annually each third saturday of May, since 2003. The holyday established by the order of president of Ukraine with account of strategical line of our state for coming closer with countries of European Union. New stage in relation between Ukraine and EU started since 21 March 2014, when the heads of the state and government of European Union and Prime-Minister of Ukraine signed political situations of Ukraine–European Union Association Agreement. The signing of this document showed strong support for our country by EU in hard time.
The groundwork of exposition consist of painting works by artist from Odessa – Sergii Dryha. Mainly imagined urban landscapes of artist combines, very recognizable, elements of architecture of different european cities such as – Krakow, Venice, Antwerp, Brugge and other.
Anatolii Horbenko folk artist of Ukraine, the head of Odessa oblast Ukrain Artist National Union organization the work «Saint places of Florence» is riddled by the slight lyricism.
With peculiar interpretation of one of the most favorite plots of world art differs the work «Stealing of Europe» by folk artist of Ukraine, the head of Kirovohrad oblast Ukrain Artist National Union organization Mykhailo Nadiezhdin.

The watercolour painting «The rain has stopped» by artist-compatriot Stepan Nikolaienko from Aleksandria filled with freshness, lightness and optimism.
The work «The port. Launches» by french artist of ukrainian origin Victor Orli (Henadii Hrebniov) impress with slight stylization, diversity of different colours and picturesque art techniuqe.
In the separate block are presented painting and graphical works of Kirovohrad artist Rostyslav Klymyshyn with scenery of Bulgaria – country, the dream of which is to come back european home which is ruined neither by Ottoman Empire, nor Soviet ideology.
In 2014 the celebrating of the European Day in Ukraine will take place on 17 May – at that day, when will be hold International auction «Long night of museum», which called for draw nearer cultural heritage to visitor, to show with the help of unconventional familiarity with museum their significance, and also diversity of world museum community.
