The Day of partisan Glory is established in Ukraine in September 22, 2001. Traditionally Kirovograd regional art Museum joins the nationwide celebration of the heroes of the so-called "second front". Guerillas in the years of World War II on the territory occupied by Nazi troops were "concealed weapons", which shot when the enemy did not expect. The Wehrmacht expected the resistance movement in the occupied lands, but strategists could not expect that this movement reached such scales. The generals of the occupants for a long time tried to hide from senior management the scope of the partisan movement, and when the late 1942 and early 1943 was affected by the rise of the guerrilla movement in the occupied territory and turning it into a factor of strategic importance, it was already too late to do some things, guerrilla movement already destroy was not possible.
Kirovohrad region in particular also joined to the Ukrainian partisan movement. In this region there were 1 guerilla union, 19 guerrilla units, 53 secretly sabotage group.
The aim of the exhibition is an attempt to convey contemporary population the whole tragedy and heroism of the past war, to remind us all about the heroic past of our people and the resistance movement, contributed to the liberation of our country from the Nazi invaders.
World War II or the Great Patriotic war, as he used to call it is already receding into the past, but it is not forgotten, not less important, because the sense of patriotism, love for the Motherland is eternal. We especially can clearly see nowadays, when Ukrainian soldiers sometimes by the cost of their own lives stop the Russian aggressor in the East of Ukraine. So heroism and love of country Ukrainians is invincible.
The exhibition presents works by the artist and countryman V. Fedorov (1920-1986) "M.Naumov" (1948) who is a famous guerrilla General, who, by the way, received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union being in the Kirovohrad region. Another work by the artist and soldier "Partisans" (1975) reveals beautiful images of war heroes, selfless and strong spirit.
There also presented the works of the national artist of Ukraine M. Nadezhdin (born in 1935) "Partisan edge, village Krasnogirka". A prominent place in the exhibition is a portrait of twice Hero of the Soviet Union major-General S. Kovpak (1887-1967) which belongs to the brush of the artist of the USSR M. Glushchenko (1901-1977).
The guerrilla movement is a mass manifestation of patriotism, sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of people of different nationalities and ideologies, the heroic struggle of the people for their Freedom and national existence. The partisan movement was and remains one of the most effective and universal forms of struggle. It allows small forces to successfully fight against the superior numbers and weapons of the enemy.
For these reasons, the historical experience of the partisan movement of the twentieth century seems to us extremely important, despite the tumultuous events that occur on the East of our country and in terms of the concentration of foreign troops on the border of Ukraine.
