An exhibition of works by honored worker of culture of Ukraine, member of the National Union of artists of Ukraine Leonid IvanovichBondar (1938-2013), dedicated to the anniversary of the bright memory of the artist was opened in July 3, 2014 in Kirovograd Regional Art Museum
A year ago in July 3, 2013 an artist, educator, social activist Leonid Bondar passed away. He was the man whom people knew and respected in the Kirovohrad region.
Leonid was born in January 14, 1938 in the city of Pavlograd, Dnipropetrovsk region in the family of a serviceman. In 1955, after graduating from high school in Brest he entered Samokish Crimean Art College, from which he graduated in 1960. In the same year he was sent to work in Kirovograd children's art school as a teacher. He had been working in this school for about 50 years: from 1977 till 1989 as the head teacher, and since 1989 as principle of the school.
L. Bondar was a member of the National Union of artists of Ukraine, participated in many regional, national and international art exhibitions. He often worked in the creative groups of the Republican house of creativity "Sedniv".
A separate page of his biography is Alexander Osmerkin Kirovograd children's art school. Leonid belonged to great merit in promoting children's fine art in our country and abroad. His pupils are regular participants and winners of numerous international competitions. Leonid has developed a system of exhibition activities of the school, long-distance relationships with community organizations.
In 2004, the artist was awarded the title "Honored worker of culture of Ukraine for a significant contribution to the development and promotion of the fine arts of the city of Kirovohrad, the education of talented youth. Also he was awarded with the Gratitude of the President of Ukraine, diploma of the international charitable Fund "Ukraine", citations and letters of Executive Committee and regional state administration. In 2008 Leonid was the winner of the regional prize in the sphere of fine arts and art history named after Alexander Osmerkin in the nomination "National tradition".
In Regional art Museum personal exhibitions of Leonid Bondarwere repeatedly opened and devoted to the anniversaries of his life and career. He was a member of many thematic exhibitions and expositions of various artistic events that took place in the Museum.
The artist considered the transfer of moods on canvas, his impression from the outside world to be the main problem in the art. For this he chose the appropriate technique and always made experiments.
Despite its venerable age, Leonid Bondar remained one of the most productive artists of the region. As a teacher for many members of the National Union of artists of Ukraine and the young artists L. Bondar always gave them a worthy example by his active creativity.
In August, 2013 within the walls of the Regional Art Museum an exhibition of works by Leonid Bondar was opened and dedicated to his memory. Most of his works, the artist's family donated to the Museum collection. The memory of Leonid will live on in his works, which will be presented in the halls of the Regional Art Museum. It will not fade in the hearts of his students, colleagues and admirers of his work as well.
