Personal Exhibition of works by S.Shapovalov

A personal exhibition of picturesque paintings of honored artist of Ukraine, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, regional award laureate of Fine Arts  by Osmerkin Sergyi Gavrylovych Shapovalov to the 70th anniversary “Spring of HOPE”.

In May 15, 2013  Kirovohrad regional Art Museum held the opening of the personal exhibition of picturesque paintings of honored artist of Ukraine,

member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, regional award laureate of Fine Arts  by Osmerkin Sergyi Gavrylovych Shapovalov to the 70th anniversary “Spring of HOPE”.

 

An outstanding representative of Ukrainian painting school, the real professional of his craft among the Ukrainian painters is Sergyi Gavrylovych Shapovalov.

Shapovalov Sergyi Gavrylovych was born in May 15, 1943 in Ingulo-Kamyanka village of Novohorodkivskyi region of Kirovohrad region. In 1962 he finished Olexandria Pedagogical College. In 1968 he entered Kyiv State Art Institute on the painting department, he was working in the workshops of V.Shatalin and V. Gurin. After finishing his study, he was sent to a work to the Kirovohrad artistic-manufacturing workshops for the position of a painter.

A member of the National painters union of Ukraine from 1989, the laureate of the regional award in the fine art sphere by Oleksandr Osmerkin in 2006 in the nomination ”National tradition ”. By the  decree of President of Ukraine № 919 from October 10, 2008 S.G. Shapovalov is given the honorable rank “The honorable painter of Ukraine”

His creative activity S.G. Shapovalov began in 1986. Sergyi Gavrylovych is a member of many local, regional, republican and international exhibitions( “New York. Inter- Expo 2002”(USA), “Russian house” in Berlin( Germany,2003). The first personal exhibition was in Kirovohrad city in 1984. Painter work “Chumatsky Mary” was presented in 2004 from Kirovohrad region in Moscow on the” Days of Ukrainian culture”. In 2004 there was a personal exhibition of a painter in Guadalajara city(Italy). Nowadays hero of the day- a member of the nationwide art exhibition ”Picturesque Ukraine 2007 ”. In 2007-2008 Sergyi Gavrylovych in the group of Artist Union of Ukraine, was in artistic journey in Gurzuf  village, in Republican House of Art. In 2010 in Taras Schevchenko National Museum  in Kyiv city was opened a personal exhibition of art” Bloom, Ukraine!”. And in 011 a personal exhibition under the name”Bloom, Ukraine!” was opened in Kirovohrad regional Art Museum . which was dedicated to all Ukrainian day of  the cultural workers and lovers of folk arts.

Sergyi Shapovalov’s works are in the museums of Ukraine( Kyiv city, Izmail city, Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi city, Kirovohrad city and others) and in the private collections of Ukraine, Spain, USA, Israel. Significant part of the artist works are bought by the Ministry of culture of Ukraine.

About Sergyi Gavrylovych  life and career way were made short films by Kirovohrad regional state broadcasting company: the first film was demonstrated on the First National( Pershyi Natsionalnyi) channel in the 90th years of the ХХ c. ( author V.I. Lysnyak, director L.Y. Evdokymova), the second one- in 2007 “In the colors of my chords”( V akordah farb moyih)( the author of the idea- N.V. Bondarenko, director M.K. Gorohov). In 2008 about the personal exhibition of Sergyi Shapovalov “Field diversity” in Kirovohrad regional Art Museum was created the televisional author program V.I. Lysnyak “God’s Gift” . In 2012 iKirovohrad regional State Art Museum was presented a film” Creative portrait of Sergyi Shapovalov” from series” The love was drove by the brush” ( Vashym penzlem vodyla lyubov) ( the author Olga Repkina, both curator and director L.I. Frenchko). In 2007 the album “Sergey Shapovalov” was established by “MAVIK” edition.

In constantly working exposition of Kirovohrad regional Art Museum there are presented architectural landscapes by S.G. Shapovalov: “The House of the painter Oleksandr Osmerkin”(1986), “Near the picture gallery”(1987), “Kovalivka”(1988), “Local Lore Museum”(1992), “An early spring. Elvorty house”(2003).

The jubilee exhibition “ The spring of HOPE” represents 36 picturesque master paintings , which are made in the pastoznyi technique, that is a kind of painter national card.

This year exhibition once again confirms that the main art direction of Sergyi Shapovalov works is a still life with wild flowers image. Among them stand out such as: “Flowers on the turquoise”(2007), “Batih ta povnyuhy”(2008), “Still Life with the bells” and “Wild Flowers”(2009); stand still lives, made in 2010; “Smelling Daises”, “Energy”, “A white towelie”, “Still life in the shades of emerald”, in 2011: “Pyvnyky”,”Pyvnyky na chervonomu”, “Spring accent”, “On the table”, “Wild poppies”, “Hollyhocks”, “The summer came”, “The summer is over”, “Fish. Crawfish”.

2012 had also became a fruitful year for the artist art. The exhibition represents emotional and at the same time bright artist works, who prefers the realistic manner of painting, pays a lot of attention to the color- “Inspired Spring”, “Snowdrops. An early spring”, “In the spring garden”, “Syringa”, “Wild larkspurs”, ”Apple blooming”, “Alpine poppies”, “ Tea with syringa”, and “Near the window”.

Among the variety of” flower” still lives, the honorable place have architectural landscape:”Spaso-Preobrazhrenakyi Cathedral”(1988), “An old church”(1990), “In warm tones”(2010), “The sun on the Maydan”(2011), “Bobrynets. Cathedral”(2012) and landsacapes, written by a painter in 2012-“Poplar avenue”, “Deck bridge”, “A spring”, “On the farmstead”, “Sunbeams”.
