Personal exhibition of works of member of the National Union of artists of Ukraine Ihor Smychek devoted to the 60-anniversary of his birth

Personal exhibition of works of member of the National Union of artists of Ukraine IhorSmychek devoted to the 60-anniversary of his birth was hold in November 27, 2013 in Kirovograd regional art Museum. IhorSmychek was born in November 24, 1953 in Kirovohrad. In 1969 he entered M.B. Grekov Odessa state art College, from which he graduated in 1973 (teacher A.G. Chernyaev). In the same year became the professor of Kirovohrad children's art school (now OsmerkinKirovohrad children's art school). From 1974 to 1976 he served in the Soviet Army. From 1976 to 1981 he studied at the Ukrainian polygraphic Institute in Lviv (teacher VS Ovchinnikov and Y. Charyshnikov). In 1982 he held the first exhibition of graphic works in Kirovograd. Since that time and currently he works as a teacher in Kirovohrad children's art school. As a talented teacher he brought up numerous talented young people. Ihor is a member of the National Union of artists of Ukraine and the National Union of theatrical figures of Ukraine. IhorSmychek is one of the leading graphic artists in the region, his works are multifaceted, ranging from art books to the monumental and easel painting. In the 1980s, the publishers of Chisinau and Lviv published his books with his design: "Dead souls" M. Gogol, "PepiLongstocking" A. Lindgren, "Golden meadow" M. Prishvin, "Colorful tales" and "Moldovan folk tales". Kirovohrad publishers released his album "Theatre of Marko Kropivnitskiy - past, present" (author - Century Sharapov, 2001); poetry "Understanding history" Century Shyla (1998), "Harvest Festival" Mogiliyk (2004); the novel "Cross paths" I.Franko (2000). He also created the logo of the all-Ukrainian festival of theatrical art "September gems", and developed the design of the theatre and the Philharmonic hall. The artist's works were exhibited at the all-Union and Republican exhibitions, in particular the exhibition "Lviv artists books" (Lviv, 1978), "From the layout to the book" (Lviv, 1983), at the fourth national exhibition of illustration and book design "the artist and the book" (M. Kiev, 1986), 2nd all-Union exhibition of book illustration (Moscow, 1986). IhorSmychek is a permanent member of the teams of regional and urban thematic exhibitions. Many times the artist presented his solo exhibitions in Kirovohrad. In the regional art Museum in October 2002 there was opened the exhibition of graphic works by the artist and in December 2003 there was opened an exhibition of paintings by Ihor devoted to the 50th anniversary since the birth. In 2008, Ihor took an active part in the creation of portraits of prominent countrymen for Ukrainian Museum project "Ukrainians in the world". The project was based on the initiative of the President of Ukraine, combines images of prominent representatives of the Ukrainian nation and exhibited in the Center of business and cultural cooperation "Ukrainian house", Kyiv. In 2009 this work was presented at the exhibition in the regional art Museum dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Kirovohrad region. In recent years, several personal exhibitions were opened in Kirovohrad regional universal scientific library named after D. Chizhevsky: exhibition "Intimate city" (2011), exhibition of painting (2012) and book graphics (2011). The artist's works are kept in museums of Ukraine and private collections of Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, Bulgaria, Germany, Israel, Japan and the USA. The artist was awarded with numerous diplomas and awards, including honorary diploma of the Ministry of culture and arts of Ukraine (2005), diploma of the National Union of artists of Ukraine (2005, 2009), the diploma of Kirovohrad city Council (2009), the diploma of the regional state administration (2010). IhorSmychek became the winner of the regional prize in the field of fine arts and art history named after Alexander Osmerkin in the nomination "new directions" for his creative pursuits in the direction of modern art and a significant contribution to the art of Kirovograd region in 2009. The exhibition, which was opened in the regional art Museum, presents mainly paintings of the artist. The author does not resort to an exact image of the world, it is not important detail. The artist believes that the true criterion of the artist is a skill combined with spiritual problems and specific material. IhorSmychek presented the work of "Europe" at the exhibition opening for Kirovograd regional art Museum.
