The initiators of the establishment of a memorial plaque to honor the memory of our famous countryman artist Bronislav Oleksandrovich Domashyn became Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum and the artist's family. At the initiative of the museum memorial plaques on the buildings of the city have been installed for the artists - countrymen Volodymyr Fedorov (1920-1986), Yurii Lutskevych (1934-2001), Borys Vintenko (1927-2002) and Arkadii Matsiievskyi (1931-2006).
Despite the rather cold fall weather with frosty wind the opening of a memorial plaque gathered a lot of people who were connected with this landmark for our city event, representatives of executive authorities, the profile department, of the cultural heritage, regional and local culture institutions, creative unions, the public, media, relatives of the artist and ordinary townspeople.
The Deputy Mayor Nataliia Dziuba, head of local branch of historical and cultural sites Nadiia Lisniak, head of the regional organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Andrii Khvorost, gave greeting speeches. They said that Bronislav Oleksandrovych Domashyn belonged to the glorious cohort of prominent artists who glorified our region, praising its beauty and praising it for the world. So the artist's name is forever inscribed in the history of national art. Warm and touching words about Bronislav Oleksandrovych were said by his friend, the famous art critic and journalist Bronislav Kumanskyi. The art faculty lecturer of the local pedagogical university, a professional artist Valerii Davydov shared personal memories about the artist.
During the speeches the present also raised the question of putting in proper form and arrangement of a place where a memorial plaque is established. The store owner has not dismantled advertising blinds and has not allowed to establish a special stand for flowers. So, the museum's director Tetiana Tkachenko expressed the common opinion of the participants that this situation is unacceptable and shameful, and to solve this problem it’s needed to unite the efforts of not only the museum and profile department, but also of local governments and public authorities. But in spite of all obstacles the opening of a memorial plaque was held.
The family of artist - his daughter Ludmyla and grandson Andrii Bohdanovych expressed gratitude to all who organized this event and joined the commemoration of the famous artist - countryman Bronislav Oleksandrovych Domashyn.
