Autumn Marathon continues. Creative trip to Kherson

Yesterday the museum staff visited Kherson, where the Kherson Customs of State Fiscal Service gave our Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum a culture monument of sacred content seized on a report on violation of customs regulations according to the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine Order № 712 from August 19, 2016 "On implementation of the decision of the Fund Expert Council on free transfer of seized or confiscated cultural values, inverted according to the law to the state revenue, issued by the minutes of the meeting №1 from the 24th of June, 2016». So now the museum collection was enlarged with an ancient book of the nineteenth century, namely, the Psalter (late 19th century), printed in Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra (1889).

We express our sincere gratitude to the acting head of Kherson Customs of State Fiscal Service Mykhailo Zakalinskyi and to the employees of the institution for the effective cooperation, hearty welcome and efficient dealing with organizational issues concerning transferring of the object.              

Having visited the customs, we had a pleasant meeting with our colleagues from Kherson Regional Art Museum named after O. O. Shovkunenko.  A particular point of pride was the fact that the director of this institution is our compatriot from Zhyvanovo village of Kompaniivka Raion (district) of Kirovohrad region, Honored Worker of Ukraine Culture, art critic, a member of Kherson regional organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Alina Vasylivna Dotsenko, a man of wide soul, true expert devoted to her beloved profession. This woman is a director with a capital letter, which was able to form a team of like-minded people and provide it with everything necessary for work in modern conditions. The meeting was held in a warm, friendly, and almost family atmosphere that created the conditions for further cooperation, exchange of experience and necessary information concerning the museum business.
