Yuri Lutskevich belongs to the generation of artists that came to art in 60-ies. This period is a time of departure of the artist from the academic standards in painting. The artist had witnessed the birth of a new wave neo-Baroque searches in contemporary Ukrainian art and showed their inner dialogue with the spiritual life of the twentieth century.
Everything is written in the sensations, in all his works there is the spirit of fantasy, the attraction to the extraordinary, mysterious, and symbolic. Joy, humanity, optimism, beauty - these are the main principles, which are based on the works of famous Ukrainian painter. Tragic finds no place in the artist.
Yuri Pavlovich is a very versatile artist who equally successfully worked in different genres: still life, landscape, portrait, thematic painting, Nude, in their pure form.
Yuri Lutskevich died in June 22, 2001.
